Lions won't tag Suh.

Let the bidding begin.

Hopefully we stand on the sidelines and watch someone else give him $20M per year...

Our resources need to be tied to youth... and not doing anything with Romo's contract that pushes dead money into the next decade. Let the Redskins give Suh $20M.

I disagree. I hope we go all out and hard after Suh.

Dallas would have more then a 1/3 of their cap filled by 2 players. 1/2 of it filled by 3 if Dez isn't redone til next season. Suh is INCREDIBLE but not worth being in cap hell, not being able to retain key players etc. He seems like he will go to a team that has to spend money like Jacksonville or Oakland.

You can't have Romo and Suh at $47 million and 50 other guys including Dez splitting the remaining 90 million.

My understanding is the Jags will go at him pretty good.

Not if it jeopardizes out ability to keep the good players we draft down the road. I would hate losing someone like Frederick or Martin because we couldn't sign them as a result of no cap space. This team has been down that road before... and we all know what the results were.

Yes, I've been witness to the lack of production from the DT and LB positions for what, 17 years now. Go back and look at our history. When have the Cowboys been a championship or super bowl team without being stout on the DL?

No team is. So I'll take my chances on this current front office having the ability to actually draft quality players to fill that role. Because so far, Will McClay appears to have a clue.

So let's see, we pick what, 22nd or 23ird in this upcoming draft. You feel we will draft an impact or dominating player in this position that will be better than Suh. I hope your right because I don't see it.

Of course not and no one would say otherwise, but we will get one cheaper. If you go with that line of thinking why not sign Dez, Murray, Suh, Cobb, McCourty and everyone else??? Because there is a cap

I could care less about Cobb and McCourty. Dez has already been tagged, It has been reported that Murray wants to stay with the Cowboys and they are working on a more team friendly contract offer. Beasley signed, great. If this all works out, I'm totally elated and content going into next season with our offense. This is the best scenario IMO keeping last year's offense in tact. I think you mentioned to this a couple weeks ago.
So most of you guys are more in tune to the cap situation than I am, by Adam S. reported on Espn about 3 days ago that if the above situation holds true, that would leave us about 19 million in cap space. If that is untrue, please correct me. So I would like to use the remaining cap space on the defense. And God forbid Romo take a pay cut (like Brady has in the past and Manning did today for 4 million) to help put the finishing touches to the few remaining pieces to make a serious run to the Super Bowl. I think its now or never for Romo and Witten. They will only get 2,maybe 3 more shots to get there before we start the growing pains of developing a new QB.
I just think Suh would be a huge upgrade for the DL and solidify a much needed or the most important need IMHO we have. If anyone has a better idea, I'm all ears.

Continuing to do exactly what we have the last few years. Sign smart FA contracts and build through the draft. I don't see any way that giving Suh over $20M per year, including over $50M in guaranteed money is the best way to help this team. We could get Haloti Ngata (once released), Murray and some secondary help for that.

Stay the course that has been charted the last 18 months or so
Suh is 2 expensive and I don't want his attitude on the Boys anyway Great player yes smart player well lets just say he is not at the front of the class. Would he help sure he would but not at the cost the Cowboys would have to pay in $$$ and team chemistry

JMHO yours might be different and that's fine 2

My idea - let's see what the market is for him. If it's $20M - wish him well. Elsewhere.

Is he the Dt from the Ravens? If so, that would be a very nice upgrade. I would be in favor of that. I did not know he was on the market. By the way, I really don't disagree with you guys on building through the draft. I just think if we are to spend on a couple free agents though, I want an impactful DT SO MUCH. I have no problem using most if not all of our cap space in this area.

I guess I'm so desperate to fix our biggest need. I just think we are a lot closer to the super bowl than most of you realize. Can't we take a couple conservative shots right now if it presents itself? After suffering 15 of the last 17 years, we are finally close, so close. We finished one play and a bad reverse call away from the championship game with a so-so defense last year. Neither super bowl team had a better record than us going into the playoffs. Add a bad tie-breaker in there to go along with it. Barring health and injuries, we a few nice pieces, we could be bad asses next year, lookout Malco.

week to week season
&
year to year league

Thing is...what does Rod think?
Me?...no question another dline guy or two but it seems Rod is a rotation guy....fresh legs for the "rushmen"

I'd be happy with a 1st or 2nd round corner It always killed me when they dress 3 corners on most games once Mo was lost.
Another talented corner is my main wish

Yes, that's him. Love that guy and it he is not free, but is expected to be cut for cap reasons. I'm not really saying we should sign him, Murray and a corner...my point was more comparing what else we could do with the money instead of signing Suh. Here is a question. Everyone is expecting Suh to be this dominant pass rush presence. How many career sacks would you guess he has? He is going to get paid similar to Watt, but he has been nowhere near the player Watt is...

Jarntt, Suh is on the same level as Watt. Watt is the best but Suh makes it much better for the other players to rush. There aren't very many DTS that get pressure and Suh is the best at breaking down a pocket.
Halo time N would be a great Cowboy too and a lower price.
