Can I take credit??

Penning is the most overhyped OL prospect coming out. I've been shouting it for weeks now.

Cactus Jack wrote:After watching more film. These are my OL rankings

Tier 1:
Ekwonu
Neal
Cross
Linderbaum
Z. Johnson

Tier 2:
Penning
Raimann
Kinnard
Smith

There's a large gap between the tier 1 & 2 guys. I wouldn't take any of the tier 2 guys in the 1st Round.

Ultimately I think Penning will end up moving to Right Guard or Right Tackle.

If the Hawks end up taking him I'm going to be so pissed.

I really don't think Ekwonu will fall to you unless the teams picking ahead of you are really stupid. Of course most of those organizations are quite stupid. I believe if you guys took Cross you would be happy if OL is the way you go.

Ekwonu isn't an option for us. If Neal somehow fell that would be the ideal scenario. I would be good with Cross. But my gut says they don't like him because he played in an Air Raid offense. So they'll pass on him.

Based on their history, Cross just isn't their type. Pete's #1 objective is running the ball. So that is the type of lineman they target. If a guy isn't a great pass blocker, they'll overlook it.

They would love Ekwonu. But there is zero chance of that happening. My biggest fear is they fall in love with Penning. He is precisely their type. :(

They would love to get their hands on Linderbaum. But Tackle is their biggest need.

I could see them going CB. Either Sauce or Stingley. I could even see them reaching for Lloyd.

If the Jaguars are smart they will take Ekwonu so they can protect their most valuable asset and put more of a charge in their running game.

I think they would take Neal if they went OL. His ceiling is Tyron Smith as a Tackle. Ike will be a dominant LG at the next level. But the optics of taking a Guard with the 1st pick for teams is still a thing. So I don't see a scenario where they take him. I would be ecstatic with either guy really.

If the Giants & Panthers pass on Cross, then I could see him falling. Him playing in that offense is a bigger deal than maybe people realize.

I still say in a perfect world Zion Johnson will fall to 24 and the Cowboys will pick him. Linderbaum also still on the board and the Cowboys trade back up into the bottom of the 1st and then draft Linderbaum.

I saw over the weekend the Jaguar's are considering Ekwonu with their first pick. Why not, he's the best O-lineman in the game IMHO. As much as they also need a pass rusher and some other holes to fill, protecting Lawrence has to be the priority her. With the free agent O-lineman the Jaguars this off season, more than should give Trevor much more pass protection and beef up their running game. Jags might end up with an elite O-line when all is said and done.

Patriots are taking Johnson if he is there when they pick at #21. :wizard:

He's not getting past 9. So you would have to trade up into the top 8 to grab him.

Also Jim Nagy, who runs the Senior Bowl & is a former scout. Said that Burks isn't a first round talent.

Green Bay seems to disagree about Burks. He apparently the WR they want in round 1.

They’re not the only team interested. He has talent and is being projected as a top 10 pick and one of the best pass rushers in this draft.

Don't mind him. He's biased against Westcoast schools. If the Jets pass on him he could slide as far as 9. But he won't get past the Hawks.

I'm much higher on Jermaine Johnson and Boye Mafe better. I have a thing for not drafting anyone coming out of the Pac-12 conference.

I thought you were not interested in trading up Mr. B., especially for OL. Why would you want to trade up for a guy you don't mind? If we are to move up it has to be a home run, not this guy. We can do much better than that. My GOD.

The advanced numbers on Johnson aren't all that great.

I wouldn't take him in the top 10. He couldn't get on the field at Georgia. That's a major red flag in itself. He's solid against the run. Good motor. But he's getting too much hype. Rumor is the Jets could take him at 4. That's way too high.

Btw Walker going 1st is ridiculous.

I wouldn't take any of them in the top 10. Ya'll been saying Cowboys shouldn't trade up, especially for OL. We have too many holes to fill. Now the Cowboys want to trade up for this bum. I'm lost.

Didn’t Troy Aikman come out of that same division? Tyron Smith too.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
