We don't need anything elite because I believe in Lamb and I believe he will prime out as a top-5 WR over the next few years.

We need a WR who is a "top-20"ish WR and DeAndre Hopkins is about that now. He will work.

Next season is going to be a ****. McCarthy will be the primary play caller. We’re going to really find out why Packers fans hate the guy. Personally I think the Jones’ are setting him up to fail. If he doesn’t get this team to the SB he’s definitely out.

If you notice Sean Payton hasn’t landed a job yet and it’s looking like he’s going to wait 1 more year before getting back in to coaching. By next off season his contract with the Saints will have expired so Payton should be free to sign with whoever he wants without having to give the Saints compensation.

So feed McCarthy enough rope to hang himself. Jerry will get what he wants he just has to wait 1 more season.

I'll just say that I don't think Kellen Moore as a play caller is anything special. But neither is McCarthy. So I wouldn't expect much to change on that front. What's the saying? You can't teach an old dog new tricks. Okay, I might have actually picked that one up from Bjj somewhere along the way. But it holds true.

In McCarthy and Dak's case, you can't fix stupid.

If going after Sean Payton didn't cost us a first round pick, he would already be here. Another year of Dumb Dak and McCarthy, :banghead:

This is a good move for Moore. He has a legitimate QB to work with and can give himself a solid bullet point on the resume if the Chargers are able to take that next step... which would say a whole lot about the current situation in Dallas as well.

If this is all true I think I'm okay with it.

He's putting McCarthy in a situation where he has to put up big or BYE BYE.

And then we have Payton waiting for us if McCarthy doesn't deliver?

I like it.

Too bad we have to waste another year with McCarthy and Prescott. When you have a team with a good amount of talent, the window only stays open so long.

There’s a rumor that starting to pick up steam. Right now just a rumor though and nothing official. Apparently the Cowboys may be looking at bringing in Kliff Kingsbury to replace Kellen Moore. Again, nothing official yet and just a rumor.

Any rumors yet on some desperate team wanting to pick up Dak's contract? :gossip:

Now that Moore is gone that means McCarthy's future is in Dumb Dak's hands. No winder he always looks depressed lately.

So what is your answer to upgrading from Dak within that window? There is no real answer to that.

Drafting an elite QB requires both time and luck and a higher draft pick.

Trade options are either not there or a downgrade from Dak.

Dak is the only reality with this current roster, find acceptance of it before you drive yourself insane and commit to spamming this forum another entire year with same tired "dumb dak" comments day after day.

Also Mahomes is the only Mahomes.

We can't get one because there are none. Only the Chiefs can have that.

Dak isn’t going anywhere. His contract prevents it. He’s here for at least 2 more seasons. That means the Cowboys have to upgrade everything around Dak if they want a chance. We’ll see if they can do that or not this off season.

I'm still at odds with this one. Part of me wants to go all defense, and a small part of me says get another RB if one falls to us in the first round to go along with Pollard along with another stud O-lineman. More running next year with more protection preventing Dak having to throw more than 25 passes a game is the best I can imagine.

Omg...you guys are hiring another Seahawks retread?

You guys remember Kris Richard?

I'm kidding. He's a good OL coach. He's old school. But has a good reputation around the league.

Carroll fired him last year because their OC (Shane Waldron) was a Sean McVay disciple & wanted to bring in his own connections with the Rams staff. So Mike Solari no longer fit & was out.

He did a decent job in Seattle. When you consider what he had to work with. Wilson always made life more difficult for the O-line.

He's older. So don't expect him to stick around long-term.

Another year of disappointment by McCarthy and he won't be the only coach mot sticking around long term...

Considering the Cowboys need to add another weapon to the offense should they consider trading their 1st for Tee Higgins? He’s be BY FAR better than any WR in this draft and he and CeeDee would probably be the best WR duo in the league.

Love Tee Higgins. Love to have him. Only problem is we have Dak throwing to him. Why give up all that draft capital to get a really nice WR like Higgins when you have Prescott and McCarthy coming back.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
