Romo's back

They are reporting Romo has two small fractures in his back.... but neither serious.

They named a guy in college that had the same injury this year and only missed one game.

It's starting to look more and more like Weeden will be the starter tomorrow

Honestly ..I hated the idea of an 80% Romo. Weeden did not look bad and now had a week to get ready.

I thought the timing was fairly good for Romo to not come back till after the London game.

Tough call because of how well the Eagles are doing. Dont want to fall a couple games behind them. (possibly end up with a winning record and still not make the playoffs.... prefer to win the division)

Romo coming in Monday was a toss up. Looking back now I wouldn't have. But Monday night I coudnt say anything about it.
Seen Romo break his sternum and come back to beat the 49er..... and just last year came in with the back injury to beat the Redskins....... I think you have to leave it up to Romo when it comes to playing with pain.

The article I read said that if he sat out tomorrow he likely wouldnt play in london either.... The long trip was going to be hard on his back.

AZs blitzes worry me a bit though. If Romo cant move I'm scared they could possibly take him out for the season or atleast add on extra games he might miss....... And I don't want to see that happen. So I guess I'm fine if they go with Weeden tomorrow ... even though our odds of winning will go down .

But hey AZ lost Palmer for a few games and they over came it ...... So anything is possible

So he was x-rayed when he went to the locker room. They likely saw the fractures and still put him back in the game? That seems like a pretty questionable decision.

maybe it was found in the MRI the next day or whenever they did it.

Lets play Weeden and let Romo heal the next 2 weeks

As I understand it the new injury has nothing to do with the surgery and playing won't do any more damage. At least c that what the team is saying. That college kid only missed a week and was fine. If he can play like Romo I say let him play. If he's limited they need to sit him.

That makes more sense.

Weird how if the injuries weren't related that he fractured two vertebrae on that hit. Really wasn't a big hit. Wonder if his body is breaking down.

Absolutely agree. I don't think there is any chance Romo starts this week. If they have confidence in Vaughan in an emergency he likely won't even be active. We certainly could use the extra roster spot this week. Problem of course is Arizona's run defense. We should be able to run on them, but Weeden is going to have to make some throws. I think he can do it. If our defense plays well I like our chances even without Romo. Last year, no way, but this year I think we have a chance.

I wonder how similar the injuries actually are. Hard to tell with a back.

Romo is officially out.

The season could be in Weeden's hands ...let see what the kids got.

lol the kid is 31

This will tell us a lot about this team. Good teams step up on offense and defense when a key player goes out. I'm sure the offensive side can and will rise to the occasion. The defense I'm afraid is already playing at their max level.

I thinK the offense will be Ok. I'm more worried about the defense today. Cards have a lot of weapons. When you look at their offense and number them in order of who scares you the most, for some reason the guy going into the Hall likely shows up 4 rth on my list. That's a red flag.

Just heard an interesting note, maybe it's common knowledge.
Romo never practices on Wednesday ...Weeden has been taking all the snaps for Wednesday's practice.

Maybe that's why he had some poise out there last week.

I'd like to hear what a doctor, that has nothing to lose or gain, thinks about the cumulative effect of these Romo back injuries, and what it could mean for him after football. Perhaps it's all good, and I certainly hope it is, but I'm beginning to wonder if this guy is going to end up with a pretty poor quality of life after his career is over.

No reports that say Peterson is out.

Also Romo will be on the sidelines .....That is a good sign that the injury is not any worse than reported.
