A theory on backup QB's who used to be a starter.

You ever notice that when you have ex starting QB comes off the bench in the middle of the game ...they seem to play pretty well. My theory is that don't have all that much time to think about anything.
I'll go ahead and assume that they are only working with a basic set of plays and they can just focus on playing the game.
But when they start the next game, it all seems to change. They seem to just regress back to whoever they were as a starter.
I will be praying that this theory rings true. There is an ex starter out there that I bet will be what we knew him to be. Career: 55% completion 70 TD's vs 71 Int's (I thought that was a frigging typo but it's not)

I have read this over a few times. It just hit me and I can only hope the theory is correct. The Qb is Mark Sanchez.

There is something about Chip Kelly that makes me want him to go back to college and coach. I honestly laughed when I found out Foles was going to be their Qb last year. He went on to throw 27 Td passes and 2 picks. He has come back to earth this yr but it seems like every game he makes s couple of huge plays. I still think he is very average but Kelly makes him better. I thought his offense would take a dip this yr without DJax. They have been fine. If you look at his Oregon teams, there aren't too many of those guys that are stars on NFL rosters. I know college is different but it just seems to me that he may be ahead of the curve.

This maybe a better system for Sanchez ...but he will need to be totally reinvented for this to work.
I always saw him as an average QB but his stats say he is far from even that.
He has never had a season that broke an 80 passer rating, and a 56 comp% is the highest of any season
And has there ever been a QB with at least 60 starts that has more Int's then TD's?
