Texas might be getting a new team

Post#1 » by tw1st3d » Sat Nov 8, 2014 9:59 pm

Raiders owner is meeting with a group from San Antonio to discuss the possibility of moving the Raiders to San Antonio

They are saying California doesnt have alot of public money nor the support for the team that it used to have.

While Texas has plenty of money and is the biggest football supporting state in the country

Interesting. I never heard that as a possibility. In general what team are people in San Antonio fans of? cowboys?

I don't see this happening and have a feeling it is being used as a pressure point to get LA moving. I could see a temp move happen until a stadium is ready in LA. Their lease is up after this season and the stadium is a crap hole, I do not blame them from wanting to get out.

It really is sad that the NFL has allowed a team to play in that stadium as long as it has without any future plans in order for them.

Doesn't matter to me one way or another, but if I'm from San Antonio I'd be concerned about getting in bed with the Raiders. That team has always looked around for the next pretty girl. (Town)

That WILL NOT happen.

odds are you are right ...

San Antonio does want and IMO deserve a team though .... thats a sports city ... from high school ball ... minor league baseball... college football... Cowboys/ Spurs

they support and damnsure support better than any Florida fans( who have 3 teams)

Its not just football here. You really think the 2 billionare owners in Texas want to let another billionare owner come in from somewhere else to put up another team and take away billions from them in a market they already control? And then risking loosing some of that fan base you have had your whole life.

LA just isnt a football town. Too many of the people that live there werent born there. My buddy lives there and he consistently tells me people just dont care about pro football. None of his LA homies are into football. Its just a Laker town.

That's not quite true. I grew up there and the Rams were loved and followed closely as long as they were winning. Problem is if the team doesn't even try to put a decent team on the field there's too much else for the fans to do.
