Being in NY, to see an article like this in the Daily News is a very rare thing.

It'll mean something if it actually works, until then, whatever. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, I just wouldn't say that emulating the Cowboys is the way to go until the Cowboys can prove that they've been going about their business the right way, which means we'll hopefully see some great results. Call me greedy and unreasonable, but I want a Wild Card victory this season, considering the start they got off too. more would be great, but a WC victory is doable for this bunch, if they can avoid additional significant injuries.

Funny to see, but horrible article.
Point 1: the Giants invented that after twice ignoring talk to fire Coughlin and being awarded by winning a SB

Point 2: Eli has been the starter for longer than Romo

Point 3: Giants really haven't brought in big $ FA pass rushers and have resigned their own pass rushers, but just let Tuck go when he was no longer good and Strahan retired before they really had to make that call.

Point 4: he makes it sound as if Mo and Carr are the reason our D has improved. Has he watched us play?

Point 5: I agree with this, but you can say it's Dallas copying the old NYG George Young method of building an Offense.

No, they could lose and doing things like building the O line was still the right thing to do.

I feel like Dallas stumbled into point 5. A series of events essentially pushed them into building that O-line up and then sticking with the run. I don't really see it as a master plan of theirs, but no matter the reasons, I'm just glad they finally built a line.

That Ralph Vacchiano guy sounds more like a fan than an objective writer. The only thing he said that makes any sense is the OL comment ant that took Jerry 20 years to figure out.

I really liked the don't spend on a DE comment. Does that dude really think had Jerry had the cap space we'd still have a high priced DE. It wasn't smarts that made Jerry be cap wise. Nope it was stupidity that forced Jerry to be conservative.

LOL...no doubt. Killed Jerry to let Ware go and Hatcher too. Killed Jerry to not spend big $'s on a pass rusher this offseason. Would kill Jerry to let either Dez or Murray go. We all know it's the f'ed up decisions of the past that killed our cap that forced this, not some holistic long range approach to fix the team...

A bunch of quality posts in this thread. One thing Ill give Jerry is that he has made mistakes like EVERY GM but at least he is passionate, cares, wants to win and is NOT cheap. Sometimes his ego has damaged his squad but there is no owner that wants to win more then him.

jerry's missteps are pretty well known.
BUT....jerry gets credit for the last two drafts.
the center is as good as Dallas thought inspite of the heat he took for not drafting the DT or safety
the guard may be all pro this season and even Rookie offensive MVP... he's been that good

Wilcox, and Williams are players. The TE has shown skills to fill a role.
Hutchins has game and all jerry needs is to be right about the Bosie DE and that's two solid back to back drafts which as been the real root to all the issues in Dallas. Drafting well is the key and Dallas has done a solid job the last two drafts

I'm kind of hoping that TE you are speaking of may be a new wrinkle the rest of the yr. Last yr, before the season, all I heard was 12 personnel. I think we have seen it a lot this yr but it has been more with Hannah. I want to see Escobar. He has been getting about 15 snaps a game. Hard to argue with the results so far with us sitting at 7-3, I just think as good as our offense is it can be even more dynamic.

I'm not sure why Hannah is getting snaps. He doesn't seem to be a plus blocker and neither does Escobar. I do think teams scout themselves...or should. tendencies matter. Dallas should still pound and remain balanced. They should also show different looks in the passing game. Williams has been a forgotten man the last two weeks and they've only flashed Escobar one game. I remain a strong proponent to spreading the ball around and not locking in on Dez.

Screens....would like to see a few more...maybe a middle screen now and then
Would love to see the hitch to Dez more
and please....involve #11

In the past Hanna seemed to be a poor blocker, but this year I think he has been very good. IMO that is why he is getting so many more snaps than Escobar. It's not like I watch him block every play, but I see him seal the edge, block his man straight up and don't recall seeing him miss too much. I think he accepted his role on this team was going to be as a blocker or he'd be cut and he dedicated himself to getting better at it. Escobar to me still needs to improve a lot as a blocker if he wants more early snaps.

I honestly believe that Will Mcclay is 1 of the reasons the last 2 drafts have been good. His presentation of the players to the coaches has been phenomenal from what I have read. That and Jerry not taking the eye candy player and drafting a meat n potatoes guy in the first round.

Manziel is a perfect example of Jerry resisting temptation even though he raved about him after the draft until the NFL told him to shut up! Still Martin was the pick to make with the players on the board.

And Scatter-shooting while wondering what ole Wfrye would think about the 3 first round OL that Jerry has taken ?

With utmost apologies to Blackie

I read earlier this week that Hannah has actually been the unsung hero of this team. Of course that's just one man opinion. Personally I would have said Leary or Mincey. I would think though if Hannah can improve then Escobar can as well especially with the new TE coach. As much as I like Beasley in the slot, I just think Escobar could cause a ton of headaches and matchup problems there

I agree. I think it's amazing that all 3 of these OLinemen have been outstanding.
