93% of the players in the NFL wear gloves, the other 7% are QBs taking away gloves would be a bad idea. Gloves are not only used for grip but they also save the hands from the the cuts you see the guys get every game on their arms and legs.

Banning Gloves would be a very bad idea

I assume you're talking about Beckhamms catch. Why don't I see Riley Cooper making those catches? It's the player, not the gloves. Beckhamms has freakish sized hands and that's the real reason behind the catch.

Nick I respectfully disagree

Odell is a great player but no damn way he catches that ball without gloves

Gloves are the new sitckem

always thought they were wrong

He actually caught a kickoff like that last yr at LSu. He was @10 yards deep and downed it but it was impressive.

Remember when Seattle was rallying and your #2 WR made that incredible catch on 3 rd and long to seal the game? Remember the overtime game against Houston when Dez made that incredible grab to win the game. Why no problem with gloves then Colors. Not a major issue but incredible grabs happen.

don't think anyone is saying the talent it takes to make these catches, gloves or no gloves, but you know as well as anyone. These gloves they wear are an advantage over no gloves. Just like when teams used stickem or no stickem. I agree if stickem isn't allowed the gloves shouldn't be either. They are performance enhancing, whether you don't want to admit that or not. I know that you know that.

I wouldn't worry to much about it Malko. The NFL is completely different than when they banned Stickem. Now they change rules for "the big Play". Those catches makes the NFL money. No way the gloves get banned ever.

but don't act like those gloves don't help these WRs catch footballs. You know how I know they help? because 90+ pct of them wear the dam gloves.

I think the point that is being made is that CERTAIN catches are made possible (or at least easier) because of the gloves. That is absolutely true. Anyone that has played receiver with them, or just in a flag football league knows what those gloves can do for you. Just the tackiness alone does make the ball stick. If you've never worn them, just go to Modells and put a pair of cheap ones on. And just because it is a great catch doesn't mean that it was made easier because of the gloves. It depends on the type of catch. But, obviously every receiver is wearing these gloves and I haven't seen anyone else make that play. So, I don't care if the gloves made it easier or not, that was amazing. Body control, concentration, athletic ability, strength to fight of the interference, speed to get the late separation and of course great hands all were required to make that play possible. That man is a superstar.

Everyone's using them so it's not a big deal. Now imagine if these WR'S were allowed to use stick-em.
