couldn't care less
8-3 and playing hard play after play works for me....few exceptions on this team and it's a beautiful to watch.
watch out....Red might give Bruce a run for his money for coach of the year....LOL at that thought

Just win is fine with me. Glad the Gmen went no huddle for a lot of the game. I was worried about that on a short week. I knew we would get their best last night. I didn't think Eli would be that sharp though. We need more out of the DBs.

I think Eli was sharp, but I think some of the catches bailed him out a little. I got a little nervous when Beckham came back in and Scandrick was still on the sideline. Was glad to see him come back in also after just a few plays. The last thing we needed was Carr trying to run with Beckham.

Of course he was sharp ...he threw 5 ints last week. It's like JPP, he plays twice as good vs the cowboys then any other team.
It kinda drives me nuts.

Re: Style Points
I didn't think the DB's played all that bad at all. Defensively I was upset at the lack of pass rush once again. But they are all playing hard and its nice to see the effort for 60 minutes every week.

The absolute difference along with the coaching.
biggest question I had starting the season was the coaching and evaluations.
Thus far....they've hit it outta the park

Just think of the possibilities going forward with this team if we can hit it out of park again in next year's draft on defense. This team would be so dangerous if we could control and dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. I know some of the guys in here want more db's. I want 2 stud D-lineman and linebackers. Our lack of production at the linebacker position has been horrific since 2009.

After the Lee and Holloman injuries I would have agreed with the concern at LB talent and depth, but I think we return Lee, McClain, Hitchens and either Durant or Carter. That's not so bad, is it? Not only do you have 4 starting caliber guys, but all of them other than McClain can play all 3 spots if need be. you want to throw another draft pick at a LB? I'll never complain about that, but I wouldn't do it early or at the expense of a pass rusher or DB. I really like the instincts of Lee, McClain and Hitchens when it comes to angles and shooting gaps. Wish Holloamn was a one year thing and not a career thing. Absolutely loved that kid's potential...

Re: Style Points
Depends on who is available I guess after we get our 2 D-lineman first. Still would rather add LB's over DB's though. Just me.

Carr is likely gone IMO after next year. Mo is kind of an enigma. Every offseason the build up of what could be is there for me and then the games start. I like Moore, but more of as a #3 guy. It's not like Scandrick, Mo and Moore is going to scare anyone away from throwing the ball. Throw in Church who is good in the box, but just can't seem to cover and Wilcox who makes a great play and follows it up with a horrific angle on the next one and I just don't feel comfortable with our secondary. There clearly is improvement ahead, especially for Wilcox who already looks way more comfortable than last year, but help would be welcomed IMO. Now I do think if we get a better pass rush and allow these corners to play more press man with a single high safety and Church in the box they can do the job, but pass rushers are tough to come by and we still don't know about Melton for next year...

Re: Style Points
I say we have to go Cb unless we sign one in the offseason. Will Mo even be ready at the start f next season??? I love Hitchens. I think we have a pretty good 5 if every one is kept. If not there is a stud at TEnnessee that's draft stock just took a huge hit. Anyone seen the 49ers play lately? They have a rookie LB that makes about 15 tackles a game.

Re: Style Points
It all starts in the trenches. The better the D line is the better the LBs can do their jobs.
The better the D-line can put pressure on the QB the better the DBs can play.
We need to draft a stud DL in one of the 1st two rounds next year (or even both rounds)
the other position high on my wishlist is CB.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you. We need a couple Db"s as well. Its just the way our linebacker's haven't produced and how decimated and unlucky we have been with injuries in that department we never seem to have enough.
