Play or sit?

What would you do? My knee-jerk is to sit the key guys you can, and focus on being ready for the WC round, which will apparently, probably be Detroit. My thing is this, while I'd lean towards sitting guys, if they do play guys, play to win. Don't go out there to break obtainable records and inflate stats. That's Bush League garbage. So again, what would you do?

Play why risk throwing timing off? it may be a slim shot but we still have a shot at a bye. As easy as it is to say sit them and not chance stats or records these players do have incentive based contracts and what does it say if you sit them and they think it was more about money than rest when they feel fine and want to play?

Don't even consider sitting anyone with a bye week possible. There is no way we do that. Now if we are up (or down) big at the half I start thinking about the next week. But, we should and will do everything we can to win this week...

They gotta play. There is still a lot at stake in terms of playoff positioning.

I say play to keep the timing, etc., that we have built going into the playoffs.

Dallas wining only matter if GB/Detroit tie. A Dallas win with either a Seattle or Arizona win and a GB or Det win keeps us as the 3 seed. If both Seattle and Arizona loses we are the 2 seed win or lose.
Yes a win could get us a bye but tho odds are do long I won't shed a tear if we lose.
Also if GB/Det tie along with a Dallas win we must pull for a Seattle win.
Odd tiebreaker give us the 1 seed if Dal, Sea, Are are tied at 12-4. We also take the 1 seed if Sea and Dallas is tied however we don't if Arizona and Dallas are.
These seeding formulas can get confusing.

Maybe by playing at 1:00 and hopefully take care of our own business with a win, we can put some added pressure on all those other teams that all play at 4:00 or later. A couple slip ups and we just might have ourselves a bye.

I agree with you but even if we win, we won't know till later in the evening the actual seeds. I think we are in somewhat of a small pickle here. If you play the odds and assume everyone wins out, more than likely we don't get a bye. So what do we do if we are fortunate to have a nice lead at halftime or put the game away early in the 3ird? Do we start to think about resting some key players and those that need to be healed up?

Thanks Manster, I didn't realize that us actually winning or losing is kind of meaningless. That does change how much I'd play Romo for sure and likely a few others too. I understand why we are the #2 seed if everyone loses, because it is us against Seattle. First you have to come out of your division, so it would only be us versus Seattle and we beat them head to head. What I don't understand is why we aren't the #2 If we all win. I guess I need to look at the standings. Detroit/GB loser shouldn't matter since they are in eligible for the 2 seed.

So I think the "sharpness" was established. Why not pull the key guys in the 2nd half?

Need to get Romo and Murray out now.
Romo creeps up the MVP balloting a little more today. Also, not hearing much about the Romo/Dallas December choking this year...

10000% agree. Especially with Murray going against me in FF. He's got 16 points already. Doesn't need any more.
