This was my favorite win

Post#1 » by Earl Stevens » Mon Dec 29, 2014 12:03 am

of all the 12 wins this year, today's was my favorite. Not just because I absolutely hate the Redskins and love to see them get destroyed, but because of how different this team looks compared to past ones. Dallas could have easily said fck it like they did in 2007 when they gave Washington an easy win, but they didn't. I think today's win shows the biggest difference between the culture with Wade Phillips and the culture with Garrett. Wade let us limp into the playoffs on the wrong foot in 2007 and it showed in the playoff game. Garrett didnt just want Cowboy players to get records like Wade did in 2007, Garrett wanted them to win and go into the playoffs peaking at the right time. No doubt it was risky playing all his players, but you gotta love the message he sent. Garrett is not letting this team take it easy and I just cant see a letdown in the playoffs like we saw against the Gmen in 07 or the Minnesota game in 09. If/when the Cowboys go out this year, they will go out swinging.

I understand where you're coming from but my favorite win was over the mighty offense of Philthy.

You guys really are homers. I'm picturing you actually tearing up today. Listen, when its all over for your team next week against Detroit I want you to go outside and experience life. It's quite refreshing. Remember, you guys are playing at home... where you suck. Enjoy "this" moment.

Pointing out the cultural differences between this year's team and past year's teams is not being a homer. By the way, your team is complete sh/t. For you to even have the audacity to post here is a joke.

Reptec, Im an Eagles fan but youre lying to yourself if you think this Dallas team isnt good. They will kick the LIONS azz next week by double digits. Dallas has a SB offense and are hot at the right time. THey are going to make some noise in the playoffs. I dont think they are as good as GB or Seattle but they can beat either team the way they are set up. A dominating OLine, a star QB/RB/WR is what they have and they'll be tough to beat. What holds them back is the Defense that is void of any playmakers when Lee isnt playing. But you cant look at this team and think that they wont make some noise. Thats just silly.

The 2 big road wins thrashing Seattle and the Egals were my favorite games this year.

I guess will find out next week. They had a good year regardless.

This win didn't really mean much to me. I get what you are saying Earl, but it really wasn't an important game. However, the December we just had and that Romo in particular had was just amazing. When things got toughest, this team played its best.

I'm with you Earl.

The culture has changed in Dallas. Dallas is no longer a SOFT team.

I said when the season started that I look forward to seeing how this team's coaches evaluate players, game plan, and make adjustments. They hit it outta the park!! I think Garrett deserves very strong consideration for coach of the year. Garrett changed the culture in Dallas and that right there was far and away the number one requirement for any coach taking this job. No more entitlement attitudes running the valley ranch halls.

Tip of the cap to Jason.

Earl........This right here is why this Dallas team is different

"Cowboys safety Barry Church vowed to seek legal payback on Lions receiver Golden Tate, who, while playing for the Seattle Seahawks in September 2012, laid out Dallas linebacker Sean Lee on an illegal blindside block.

"That was the dirtiest shot I've ever seen," Church said during his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "We were talking about it on the way back from Washington, me and Sean. He was just like, 'Man, I wish I could play so bad in this game just to give a little payback for what he did in Seattle."

Gotta love this Cowboy bunch

I've never forgotten that shot either and think of it everytime I see Tate. If Church or Wilcox laid him out I would absolutely love that. I'll give you another one to love about this group. Lee has been out since the first practice of the year, but he was at last weeks game.

The last year I coached high school baseball we played Golden Tate's team. He hit 2 triples and a double against us. We won 14-2. He lived 10 minutes away from me but went to a private school. He was a star. Haven't seen him since.

I've said that every single year. I'm finally not going to say it again. Sadly some guys bodies just seem to be more susceptible to injuries than others.

I wish Church never said a word publicly about Tate. Now if there's even a questionable hit he's looking at a game suspension.

He should have just told Lee if the opportunity is there hell ensure Tate remembers what he did.

Basically said who in the heck is Barry Church. Something like- he is just trying to get his name out there. You can't hit what you can't catch. If you are scared go to Church.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
