This week's game

Post#1 » by Jarntt » Wed Jan 7, 2015 3:24 pm

I am a huge fan of Aaron Rodgers. I think he is the best "all around" QB in the game. He is incredibly accurate, mobile and just seems to make plays. I always worry about the elite QBs that can carve us up and the mobile QBs that seem to easily run for 1st downs against us - even Stafford had a huge 1st down run against us. He si both. So I'm hoping that calf is going to limit him even if just a little. Maybe the cold weather and the injury will be a tough combo for him.

Originally I was thinking we were going to have to be incredibly lucky to win this game. The more I think about it, the more confident I am getting in our chances. As bad as we played in the beginning of the game against Detroit, we still came back and won. I think if we get off to a good start we are going to be tough to beat.

Wondering about Lawrence for this week. Crazy last couple of minutes for him last week. Maybe that game clinching sack/strip/fumble will not only get him going, but also some more PT. Big play for a draft pick that was single handedly going to doom us and ended our entire season before day 3 of the draft was even over.

Where has Matthews been playing? I think they moved him inside. I don't think we will struggle with the the packs interior line like we did with the lions or Eagles. I think there is a good change we see a 170 yards of rushing this Sunday.

That should keep Rodgers on the sideline.

I agree. I think we can pound the hell out of the ball. Lets put this game in the hands of Murray and the O-line. Bottom line, we are 1 win from the NFC Championship game.

It's possible the Packers defense got a little better down the stretch, granted facing the Bills and Bucs in December may have inflated their defensive stats a bit.

Don't know what it is like in GB right now, but my weather app says it 7 degrees here and -20 degrees with the wind chill. Starting to rethink my comment that cold weather could benefit us because of our running game and neutralizing their passing game...

Yes Very cold weather sucks but I do think it will help us as it will make the passing game a little less effective. Outside of RTD I doubt anyone thinks Romo can out pass AR.

Watched last years game today vs GB. Offensively we did a lot of good things. I know it's a different team both ways and gonna be different conditions but Mirray ran wild as did Lacy. Dez had a huge game. I think GB was missing their slot Cb though. He could be the best we have seen this year- Heyward. It can't get here quick enough

If Rodgers is lights out, we lose. You just can't beat an All Time great QB when they get rolling unless you are just a flat out much better team without a lot of luck. But, I have a good feeling about this team in general right now. I'm grounded enough to know we still aren't a great team, but we are a good team and if we can get things going our way I think we have a good chance.

He usually is lights out at home. I expect him to play really well but the injury will affect him I think. I just wonder if we change our defense a little with the blitz to make him move.

I'd go after his ass hard early in the game to see how it really feels. Test the calf at the very start of the game. Let's see what ya got Rodger's.

we better go after him all game long! If we sit in a Zone & no pressure, he will pick us apart, while yawning.

I had to laugh yesterday after I heard something Aikman said.

He said that since the San Fran game he does not recall a pass by Romo that Cowboys fans would say "Oh my God why did he throw that?" Now I will admit this year might be the fewest of the "Oh no" passes but there were some there for sure.

SOME would say because he has thrown 150-200 less passes lol

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. Heck, the Colts game may have been his best game of the year and even in that game he threw an "Oh no" ball. Everyone throws them, just don't throw too many of them and don't throw them in the wrong spots...

the game where he broke some record for the most completions in a row He had a oh no pass that would have went for 6 the other way if the defender didn't just drop it. Which that pass I believe took him out of the running for most accurate game by a QB.

Well the game is upon us. I think we have a shot at a W but I'm not feeling too good about today though. We have our work cut out for us.
