Up coming free agents.

Quite a strong list of free agents. Anything interesting that might help or improve our team on the way to the Super Bowl next year?

Anyone up to date on what Suh is asking? The attention and double teaming that is required to deal with him could be huge for us if the price is right. With Suh controlling the middle of the line of scrimmage for us on the defense, should free us up to fill in the other areas we have been talking about all year. We desperately need a couple lineman on defense but we don't pick to what, 22 or 23 in the draft. What are the chances we get a couple really good D-lineman if we don't get Suh picking so high in each round? I'm just juggling some things in my head at the moment on how we can improve our defense. Bottom line when you think about it, we were just a few plays and a bad call from the super bowl this past year with a mediocre or middle of the pack defense.

pretty sure SUH is a no chance here in Dallas unless we let both Dez and Murry walk. They are still projecting the cap at 140 and we have 23 free agents with only 8 million in cap space.

The quality FA list is somewhat of a mirage. 75% of these guys wont hit the open market because of resigning or the franchise tag that will get slapped on them.

I still think one of the best signings would be Murray to the Cardinals. Just seems like a perfect fit though the Cards dont have the space. I'd love to see Houston on the Eagles paired up with Barwin but he's getting the tag himself. Will be interesting to see if any of the big names do go anywhere significant. The teams with real space are all pretty crappy.

I also think Shu is a pipedream for Dallas and I'm good with that.

Maybe its time to unload a few more contracts for some room. I have no problem at all in getting rid of Sean Lee. What's the point of keeping a player that is unreliable, undependable and can't stay on the field more than 6 games a year.

All that would do is add to the number of players we would have to add while adding dead cap money 9 million to be exact.

Great. That's just terrific. 9 million dollar cap hit for a player we might get a half a season from.

Its too bad Pools cause Lee is EASILY the best LB in the NFC East. He's is just one of those guys you have to root for even if you aren't a Cowboys fan. 9 million is a BIG number for an ILB though.

Lee's Cap hit 5.45 mil. It would be 9.8 if we cut him which would be stupid. Of all the players or contracts we have had to put up with Lee's I have no problem dealing with. He is a true team player.

Carr needs to take a cut... and Claiborne needs to either be released or traded.

I also think Shu is a pipedream for Dallas and I'm good with that.
The other bad boy Fairy was just found innocent and could draw some interest on the somewhat cheep.

Fairly finally stepped up this year and showed why he was drafted so high. They thing that scares me about him is that until this year (his contract year) he was known as an extremely lazy player. Guys that only step up in their contract year concern me.

No doubt there are concerns with Fairly, but I think there is talent there. I think he is an interesting one to follow this offseason.

He's definitely talented, it's just a matter of keeping him motivated.

Too bad because Suh is the Bob Lilly or Randy White we need at DT. He would solve half our problems on defense. I know some of you will throw the salary cap back at me but remember, Romo and Witten only have a 2 year window and then its over for them. If they don't win a super bowl in the next 2 years, they never will. Romo and Witten I'm talking about here. Jerry may have done a better job the past couple years, but I fully expect him to go full boar ahead based on how they finished last year. Jerry and his ego just can't help themselves.

I dont think the window is shut when Witten leaves. He is a first ballot Hall Of Famer IMO but he doesnt have a huge impact like he used to. Dallas can definitely weather the storm losing him. But Romo will be hard to replace. More then half the league is looking for an upgrade at QB and many of the top 10 are aging stars (Romo, Manning, Brady). Colts did it better then anyone going from Manning to Luck. GB too with Favre to Rodgers.
