Is Doomsday III On The Way?

Mo so far looks like the player we thought he might turnout to be. So far, except depth purposes, losing Scandrick hasn't hurt us. Jones looks like the real deal and what a pleasant surprise to have Sean Lee back, wow. I have the feeling our defense will be a lot better than any of us expected, especially when we get Hardy, McClain and Gregory back. Maranelli has them dialed up pretty good and finally has some pieces to work with while Steven has helped contribute to a better culture and a lot of depth. Our depth is paying off right now and should continue to do so.
The next 2 weeks we play teams from the worst division in football and then we will have everyone back. Not worried about New Orleans at all with their crappy defense and now, no Drew Brees. We are a better team than Atlanta even without Romo and DEZ. We just need to play well and take care of the ball at home.

Hell no. After what I witnessed yesterday. No way. What a pathetic display of caching and playing yesterday. Falcons imposed their will in the second half and made us look like a bunch of pansie's. Offense played well in the first half, but Weeden's int, just before the half was a momentum changer. Instead of going or being up by 17 or 21, we went up by 11 at half time. Of course as usual, our coaching staff made horrible adjustments and went away from the offensive game plan after half time. Only 5 rushing attempts after half time and the passing game was dink and dunk. Falcons shrunk their defense and we never adjusted or even tried to open things by throwing anything midrange or anything down field. I thought Weeden had a great arm and threw a great ball. I guess we will never see. Apparently, there is a lack of confidence somewhere between Weeden and the coaching staff. I thought if we kept running the ball we still should and could have one this game despite the fact that Atlanta looks so much better than last year. They appear to have one of the most potent offenses so far this year.
And wow, did the Atlanta offense impose its will on the Dallas defense yesterday and made us look like a bunch of pansie's. I know we have some help coming in another week with Hardy, McClain, Mincy and Gregory. But that's only help in the passing game. After yesterdays performance, now you guys understand why I've been bitching about DT the past 2 years. Those Cowboy fans that thought I was nuts for wanting a DT in the first round aren't laughing at me now. If we don't address the weakness in the running game and D-line immediately, we can forget about the playoffs and the deep run in the playoffs that we all thought could happen this year. Still like Maranelli, maybe it was just a bad game, but I have no faith in Jason Garrett's ability to make half time adjustments anymore and wish we could get a new coach. Christ, Arizona can still make the playoffs with their 3ird string QB last year, but we can even win a game at home vs. the worst division in the NFL.

After another pitiful defensive performance yesterday, I finally give up. I'm glad you guys are happy getting another OL and CB with our 1st round pick. I'm still bitching about DL, especially DT. We suck at DL and I have been bitching about it for 6 years now. Do we need anymore evidence based on the last 2 God Damn weeks. And Garrett still sucks at play calling and half time adjustments. :banghead:

Gotta agree about DT. Crawford is invisible. All that talk about him being a prototypical "3" technique... Bull!

Barring more injury, there might be some hope for the defense now that we got many guys back this past week. There's potential to be a bit dominating on some level. Thought they looked awesome for the first half vs. the best offense in football. The problem is when the best offensive line and the pieces around it can't get a first down and is nothing but a 3 and out offense, its just a matter of time in a game and a season when your on the field all the time till you burn out.

We still have no Linebackers or DT's. 4 years later I'm saying the same damn thing. Those 2 POSITIONS HAVE YET TO BE ADDRESSED. Someone thought the glitz and glitter of drafting a CB and pass rushers was the way to go. Not me, but I'm not in a position of power to do anything about it. So instead we ended up with two cancerous thugs with suspensions, a great player who can't stay healthy and cost us a ton of money every year, no linebackers what so ever and not one DT that can step up and stop the run game. Until we address those 2 issues this off season, expect more of the same next year and the year after.
