Market growing for Robert Griffin III

Cowboys continue to be linked to RG3.

Robert Griffin III will have his opportunity to resurrect his career. And the market is growing for the soon-to-be former Washington Redskins quarterback.

According to NFL analyst, Mike Freeman that market is a minimum of ten teams.

“Despite all that we know about Robert Griffin III, according to interviews with a half-dozen front-office talent evaluators, he remains the most intriguing figure in the free-agent sweepstakes that begin this month,” said Freeman. “There are at least 10 teams giving Griffin a hard look, these sources say.

“Maybe 15. Maybe more.”

The reality is, despite the injuries that derailed the former Heisman Trophy winner spectacular rookie debut, he’s just 26-years old. Twenty-six!

That’s a big selling point in NFL front offices according to Freeman. Those teams are lining up and reportedly, things may be getting a little under-handed to secure the services of the former Baylor star.

“What I can tell you also is that some teams are privately accusing others of tampering with Griffin,” said Freeman. “This is my shocked face. Tampering is to football what logic is to Vulcans.

“The team officials interviewed believe the most likely landing spot for Griffin is Los Angeles, Cleveland or Houston. Though, to be truthful, no one really knows. It's all guesswork. http://was.247sports.com/Bolt/Market-growing-for-Robert-Griffin-III-44078468

I'm open to the idea if the price is right. I admit Griffin had an outstanding rookie year. I also believe the following year he was not completely ready to go and the Redskins were a horrible team in a horrible situation on top of it. He's healthy now and I've seen a new level of maturity from him since the debacle 2 years ago. He could be the backup and future answer to address our current situation. Mr. B won't agree with us though.

Haha! Yup, you are correct! I have zero interest in RGIII. I'm very mature too but that doesn't mean I can read defenses. Shanahan himself said that RGIII cannot read defenses. He's a 1 read QB. All of his success was built on being able to make 1 read and if his guy wasn't open he'd take off running. Now that his knee is shot half of his game is gone. He's still just a 1 read guy, only now he can't run. I would honestly prefer Nick Foles or Colt McCoy over RGIII. With that said, who else saw this pic?

I enjoyed watching him play early during his career when he had success before the injuries. I doubt it was just the injuries, so as stated, I believe not being able to read defenses was also a problem for him.
We seem to be looking at the future and Tony Romo possibly won't be around much longer but RG3's not the successor that we need.

I think Colt McCoy is the perfect back up for us till we find the "Guy". I agree with Mr. B on this one. But I dread Foles.

If he hasn't learned or matured in that area, then I am in full agreement with you.

Nevertheless, RG knee has just been released. Manning is retiring as I am typing (I have the day off today) this post. WE should get an idea real soon who the players are for QB's this week and maybe some hints on what some may do come draft day. Should be NFL active the next few weeks. New NFL season starts in 2 days and free agency begins and should be REAL INTERESTING. Maybe we can figure out which direction we may take.

No he's not. Not unless they were actually committed to change his entire game... and that doesn't make sense. I keep thinking Houston is the place for him. And after watching Brian Hoyer's fine work in the playoffs back in January, I'm pretty certain more than a few Texans fans feel the same.

Crazy day yesterday. Glad to see Houston do what they did. Just heard Kaepernick will have Denver making a hard play for him. Haven't heard anyone making any offers to RGknee. Insiders are saying Brian Hoyer may be our back up to Romo after what happened in Houston yesterday.

The good news for us - RGIII is going to get stupid money from someone to be a starter. Denver... Cleveland... Jets... all need a starting QB.

As far as Hoyer BJJ... no thanks. Hell - I'd rather have Weeden back.

Elway is dumber as the days progress.
Broncos trade Eagles a draft pick for Mark Sanchez

My best friend's son is a Broncos fan. He's pretty much losing his mind.

I know we need a back up QB, but right now its not on my radar at all in this year's draft. Not sure who I want. I just want a mother F......ing defense.

Prior to his stint in Houston I actually though Hoyer would be a good fit as Tony's backup. After his playoff performance though it would be hard to convince anyone that signing him here would be a good idea.

On the other hand Houston sure has had a way of ruining QB's. They're like the Cleveland of the South.

Mighty high praise for that franchise. I endorse this opinion!

If they ever got a real QB and RB with their defense, they immediately become serious contenders for the AFC.

They've been searching for that QB since Bernie Kosar left town. Who was the last really good RB they've had?

Dan Pastorini comes to mind. Back when they had Earl Campbell and the boys. Had a few great teams back then, just couldn't get by the Steelers back then. The Oilers and the luv ya blue gang.

The Cleveland Browns appear to be the destination for RG3 right now.
That's fine with me and I prefer him to be off the market as soon as possible.
However, I find it interesting that they're going to trust going forward with RG3, considering all the chemistry issues he had with his fellow players at Washington. It just seems to not be the direction that the Browns need to go in.

As long as he doesn't come here, that's fine by me. Going to Cleveland bothers me though. My season will get ruined if we take a QB in this year's draft, especially at #4. :noway:
