Jerry must have been on his whiskey and water vacation all summer. He's just now telling us what we already knew a long time ago. All I can say is just, WOW.

Re: 2016 Dallas Cowboys Preseason Thread
On a side note, it seems like most everyone, including Los Vegas, sportsbook etc., are giving the Cowboys a lot of love. Even if we do win our division, our defense will have to improve dramatically, get tons of turnovers or get extremely lucky. And the way things look right now, I just can't see us getting beyond a wild card win and then done again. I just don't see us in the upper echilon of teams with Seattle, Minnesota, Green Bay and Arizona just yet with our defense. Offense, well, we are as good as anyone barring injury.

Re: 2016 Dallas Cowboys Preseason Thread
I'm sure the odds makers look at this crappy division and say to themselves "Why not?" Iggles in rebuild mode... who the hell knows about the Giants... and is anyone really buying Kirk Cousins? Really?
It all comes down to one position. We know that. So does Vegas. If Romo stays upright, there's no reason why the Cowboys can't win this thing.
After that...

Yesterday Justin Durant signs a 1 year deal with the Cowboys. If anything, it gives us a little help if he can stay healthy, and at minimum, some actual depth at LB.

Can't say I have. I post occasionally in the Stars forum to kick the tumbleweeds around. Should I be taking a look?

Sometimes I do. I spend a lot of time on the Mavs board.

Its picked up in there. A few new posters and I've been getting into it with a couple Rams fans. We need to ask the moderator for a smack talk thread, lol.

HERE WE GO AGAIN. Elliot today was accused of domestic violence. I feared this way before the draft when I mentioned to you guys about the party habit at Ohio State with roommate Bosa. This type of accused behavior would fit the profile of someone who was doing molly and/or crystal meth. I hope this is not true because this would be a very huge disaster for us. But we have all said it and discussed this before. Jerry likes the red flag, high risk players.

Guilty until proven innocent huh?
I take it you haven't heard the rest of what is coming out yet. Apparently he has saved several texts from the girl with her threatening to ruin his career. Story I heard is he was breaking up with her and she accused him of hitting her. There were 3 witnesses there (including one in the car with them) and all have said that he didn't touch her. Appears to be a scorned chick that was losing her meal ticket and is making a money grab.

Tap the brakes Bubba... Let's see how this shakes out. Way too soon to pass judgement.

This chicks story seems to be falling apart by the second. I heard that Zeke is saying her bruises came from a bar fight earlier in the night (which Zeke was not present for). Cops also believe that her bruises appear to be self inflicted and are consistent with slamming her arms down on a table.

More holes in her story than this old t-shirt I'm wearing.

Re: 2016 Dallas Cowboys Preseason Thread
Wow. I do feel much better now that I know more about the story. On the other hand, I can't help wonder why anyone would want to date someone that goes to bars and night clubs and gets into fights. I guess that says a lot about her. And to some extent him, for choosing a woman like that in that type of environment and culture. Hopefully, Elliot will pick and choose his friends and girl friends more wisely in the future.

I'll ask my wife. I'm sure that after 30 years she has a very good explanation for her actions back then.

For a 21 year old guy I'm not surprised he was blinded but a cute face and a fat ass. I've been with a couple crazies myself. I even married one. Luckily I was able to get out of that in one piece. He does need to be careful with who he invites into his circle though. I've seen him several times at the Twin Peaks in Addison and the girls there definitely love them some Zeke.
This situation could actually be a blessing for him. If he learns to avoid girls like that, or at learns to not play with their hearts. A scorned woman can definitely bring your whole world crashing down.

Well... crap.
It appears Randy Gregory has checked himself into a rehab center after failing another drug test. I'm pretty certain we can forget about him for this season...

Geez guys. What the hell can we say that we haven't said before, since last season ended? I hate to admit, it both sickens me as a very long Cowboy lifer. However this cancerous culture of play pen thugs means we are not doing a good enough job in vetting these kids. Its been going on for years. It also sickens me that I'm getting used to it and nothing surprises me in Jerry world. I'm rather tired of bitching about the red flag players we continuously draft. And I'm sure you guys are tired of me crabbing about his 5 times a year, for how long now? And I took so much heat from many Cowboy fans when I wanted to go all out on defense this past draft. Oh well, I think I was right, but it doesn't matter now. As parcel's always said, it is what it is.
