2016 Week 2 - At the Deadskins

Post#1 » by Otis Driftwood » Tue Sep 13, 2016 12:18 pm

If the Cowboys do not run the football at least 45 times against the Redskins then Garrett should be fired on the spot. D'Angelo Williams absolutely gashed Washington last night. If Bell had been active that would have been way worse.

You can bet Norman won't spend all afternoon covering Terrance Williams.

Garrett should have been fired 4 years ago when I originally wanted to clean house. Dez had 1 catch for 8 yards. How does a receiver like dez get those stats vs. the Giant defense? And then the only positive thing going in the 3ird period was Morris. he never saw the field again when the 4th period started. Once again puppet Garrett shows once again he is no big time coach, that's for sure.

I think the Redskins will load up the box and force Prescott to throw. Looks like we will be 0 - 2 after this week unless we can get the ball to Dez and our hum, hum receivers. I love Beasley though.

I don't think they can play run defense. Period.

Neither can we unfortunately.

Maybe we will gain an advantage with our awesome coaching.

Well... when you look at their awesome coaching, we might actually already have that advantage in our pocket. Most Skins fans I know question why Gruden was hired in the first place and haven't exactly been won over quite yet.

Good. We know which side Dez will line up on then.

And in the end... Redskins defense is worse than ours and our QB is better than theirs.

Once again Dak played really well. Didn't force anything and played really smart. He even called a couple audibles, which tells me he's getting more and more familiar with the plays.

And holy crap, the defense finally made some plays. They still suck, but at least they made some plays.

Zeke cannot put the ball on the ground. Morris should start next week.

Completely agree my friend. Zeke had a good 2nd half but the fumbles cannot continue.

And - all of my Redskin fan buddies agree. We have a keeper in Dak. Particularly as they look at Cousins and seriously debate whether it's time to reboot at that position.

After two games is apparent that this division is really bad. With as bad as the Dallas defense is there were times they got shut down by the Cowboys. The Giants did win again today but didn't look spectacular and barely beat a mediocre Saints team. The Eagles are the Eagles.

I don't think any of us are surprised about the NFC Least. I will say this though - the Giants defense looks to be very legitimate in the small sample size so far. I'll be interested in what the Iggles have to offer tonight particularly as their next opponent is our next opponent.

Redskins fans are bitter. One said yesterday "We need a new coach". I told him, "You needed a new coach last year. Still don't know why you hired the current one". Got absolutely no argument.

Its not like Garrett didn't try to give away another game. what the hell was that on side kick after we scored a T.D.? I wanted to break my T.V.

I actually thought it was a good play call just really poor execution on Bailey's part. If he had been able to get the ball 10 yards the Cowboys were in position to get the ball. If they do get the ball right there they very likely go right down and score.

It was one of the very few times that Garrett surprised the defense. Then the defense stepped up huge by holding them to a FG. I also have to say they used Dez much differently. Now we just need to see if they can keep it up.

I wasn't crazy about it but you're right. Had they pulled it off we would all be praising Garrett for climbing out of his playcalling shell and being daring. And yes - holding them to a FG was huge... particularly at that point of the game and how things played out. The combination of the 2 FG's and the End Zone INT were game killers for the Redskins.

I agree, holding them to FG's on both of those drives was huge. I heard a funny stat yesterday... as bad as the Cowboys DL is they have 3 sacks and the Giants DL supposedly loaded with talent currently has 0 sacks.
