So of course I had to go look... he returned 4 punts for TD's while with Dallas. No kickoffs...

https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/how-many-career-punt-return-touchdowns-did-deion-sanders-get#:~:text=Deion%20Sanders%20scored%206%20touchdowns%20on%20punt%20returns%20in%20his%20career.

I thought maybe Mel Renfro may have come close. He had a better kickoff and punt return average than Sanders.

Do the Cowboys have a decent replacement? Do they start the rookie at LT?

All I can say on this one is the Cowboys don't usually win when Smith doesn't play. We are very vulnerable on the OL as it is. now this. not good.

Almost have to. Because Josh Bell sucks.

What I know is this...

Lining a rookie up at LT next to a guy that was so bad last season that he couldn't beat out Connor Williams for a starting job next to a C who is at the very best "average"...

Gonna be a long year, kids.

Not unless you consider Josh Ball decent. He’s their swing tackle.

Don’t worry! Dak makes $40M per so he’s being counted on to carry the team all by himself.

And damn. Did I make a mistake watching ESPN for the first time in a while. Only because it was in Dallas and the guest list. Had a hard time lasting the whole 2 hours. Steven A.'s All time Dallas Cowboy WR list just about made me toss my breakfast cookies. I can understand Cowboy fans having a debate over Pearson and Irvin as the number1, but for the life of me you have a home grown guy like Bob Hayes (who revolutionized the WR position and forced defensive coordinators to come up with zone defenses because nobody could guard him one on one)not even in the top 5? Putting T. Owens, Dez Bryant and Alvin Harper over him, wow. And nothing against Alvin Harper either, but Tony Hill was a better WR2.

Idk man...I've seen some bad o-line play in recent years up this way. It can't be that bad. You've just been spoiled.

Dallas had probably the best line in Football for a few years there. Now the mainstays like Tyron are getting older & are breaking down. It happens.

My biggest gripe would be cutting La'el Collins. Didn't seem to be a necessity. Just a way to save money.

It was mostly about money - there were other issues (like availability - he hasn't gotten vaxxed).

But what I find "amusing" is how Cowboys fans (like my BIL - for example) are screaming that "Cowboys HAVE to do something NOW" when that should have happened months ago. The Joneses let Collins go, they knew Williams was going to go, they ABSOLUTELY know that Tyron Smith hasn't played half the games in the last 3 seasons... and all the sudden we have to do "something"?

Trust me Jack... this line hasn't been good for a few years now. And you can pinpoint the exact moment when things went south. It was when Travis Frederick & Guillain–Barré syndrome became acquainted. Dude was a rock in the middle. They haven't replaced him yet.

I hear ya. Having a great Center makes all the difference. The biggest mistake the Hawks made was letting Max Unger go. The line has been mostly crap since.

This year's roster is worse than last years.

Our o-line and WR core are worse.

Tyler Smith is going to have to be "that guy" in his rookie year and CeeDee is going to have to make the leap into top-5 elite WR while staying healthy. Both are possible I suppose but I'd much rather just have a healthy Tyron and Cooper back.

Some are suggesting that Tyron's injury may be career ending.

They need to put him on season ending IR list so that his salary is wiped from the cap and sign Eric Fisher to a 2-3 year contract.

Andrew Whitworth is 40 years old.

Whitworth is 40. But the dude was still playing at a very high level last season. If they could somehow convince him to come out of retirement then you have to do it. Because he's your best option at this point & it's not close.

Fisher has been an above average Tackle coming off an Achilles injury.
