If there’s such a thing as a “quality loss’”, that was one. Didn’t like a couple of plays at the end (4th & 3 and you try forcing the ball downfield to a well covered CeeDee) but the young offensive line wasn’t bad (thanks Carter, you dumb ass) and the defensive line did good things.
Onward…

Yeah, "quality loss" if it were just any other NFL team.
But we've seen this from Dak and the Cowboys since 2021 to 2023.
It's the inability to win in big games.
Not being able to make big plays in the clutch is the same old problem we saw against the Eagles.

No doubt. And the good teams learn how to win them. So we’ll see how the new HC gets them over the hump or if he’s able to.

Just enjoy the ride, I guess.

Been my philosophy for a couple of decades now. Options are few and I’m too old to hope Jerry or Stephen get their s**t together.
Onward!

I am happy with the week 1 simply because I was expecting Dallas to get crushed, but instead it was a game that we *SHOULD* have won, and could have won.
The offense did "well" against what was the best defense in the NFL last season. CeeDee's drops were the big issue, and I seriously doubt that will be an issue the rest of the year. I mean I am suer he'll have a couple more drops, but not multiple drops that all game defining like this game.
And the defense did really well. Our CBs shut down their WRs. Diggs and Bland look like a great duo. And we did a good job on Barkley, I think we did well stuffing him in the middle. Kenny Clark is an immediate impact. Also 5 "QB Hits" and one sack. There was some pressure. I mean yes, there would have been even more with Parsons, but we had something without him. We made Hurts run.

Agreed on all points. Hope to see more of this defensive level against the Giants this Sunday. Tough slate of games upcoming… this is as much a “must win” game as there is.

Hate it when I am forced to applaud a move by Jerry…
But getting your starting LT locked up long term is a terrific move.

Letting that Eagles game slip through their hands is likely going to haunt them the rest of the year.

While Jerry is handing new deals out…
Might want to pay the kicker.

No kicker in the league I’d rather have. An absolute weapon.

The Cowboys limited the Giants to 84 total rushing yards.
That's a good sign.
Defense is still a concern as the Cowboys are giving up too many points the last 2 games.
As long as the Cowboy offense is scoring in the 20s or 30s, I think this will be an interesting season, to say the least.

To Dak's credit, he did well in the clutch in this game.
Just wishing Dak could do this in the playoffs.

This was one of the most clutch outings Dak has had, because he basically had THREE game winning drives in the same game. That hail mary to Nabbers shouldn't have happened. Game should have been over after that, but Dak had to drive with seconds left for the long feild goal into OT, and then had to scramble for the final one in OT. I mean there was clutch all over for him and no way we win that game without him.
I am really concerned about our pass defense, and our run game. Jaydon Blue needs to come in here and show us he is the one. And Darron Bland is, well, we just REALLY need him out there. Diggs was getting beat up and that was concerning, and I don't feel like our safties are elite pass defenders at all.

It is odd to say that I came out of the week 1 loss feeling better about the team than I do today coming out of a win.

Yeah, the defense does not look good after 2 games.
But I prefer this compared to last season when the offense was bad.
Need the defense to get better if the Cowboys want to be a playoff team.

True… but fair. Watching Russ Wilson throw for 450 yards will do that to us. I’m sure Caleb Williams is taking notes this morning.

After watching the first two weeks I can say that based on the way the team has played they should be 1-1. They let one get away against the Eagles and they should have lost to the Giants.
