Cowboys' Romo hopes for new contract (Article)

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Tue Jun 12, 2007 3:20 pm

"I'd definitely like it before the season began, but you never know how these things go," he said. "I know the Jones family. They know me. We'll come to a conclusion."

Romo is entering the last year of his contract and will make $1.5 million this season.

However, owner and general manager Jerry Jones has said he is optimistic a deal can be reached.

"I don't think about that stuff," Romo said. "Whenever they start talking [more], it'll play itself out the way it should. Whatever's fair is fair."

id wait until at least week 6 to think about a new contract if he performs to expectations and what some people think he can be id be more than happy to pay him what could be a handsome sum of money.

Making until midseason would be ideal, but you know that his agent is really pushing the Cowboys for that new deal.

I'm hoping that he is the real deal, we'll see soon enough.
