Question about Umberto Sanchez

Post#1 » by KnicksGod » Mon Apr 16, 2007 9:50 pm

Why isn't he being discussed to come up and get a start or two with Pavano and Moose down?

I think hes on the DL....not sure though

He did have elbow or shoulder problems in spring training so they probably dont want to rush him

He has had some elbow soreness/swelling but there is absolutely no structural damage. This has been a recurring problem (and mostly the reason Detroit traded him) so Nardi Contreras has changed the way Sanchez throws his curveball hoping that will fix the problem. Right now he is just throwing bullpen sessions with no timetable on his return.

I really wish we kept Humberto, hope he does well for the Yankees. Thank god for Andrew Miller or that trade wouldn't make much sense for us in 2 or 3 years considering Sheffields age.

It's a nagging injury he has to deal with.

I'm surprised your question wasn't "How do I spell his name?"

Humberto Sanchez underwent Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of the season.

The Yankees kept calling Sanchez's problem inflammation, but it's no surprise it turned out to be far more serious, especially on the heels of some similar troubles last year in the Tigers organization. The missed season only makes it more likely that his future is in the bullpen, not in the rotation.

Looks like Humberto's condition was worse than speculated. He's had arm problems throughout his career, so hopefully the TJ surgery will clear all those issues up.

Getting rid of sheff regardless of what we got back, is the key for me, he is such an ingrate...... Good riddance, to he and that clown Randy Johnson....

I hope Humberto comes back strong, we can always use another young, big arm...

BTW: I heard Hughes had 10k's in 6 innings his last start..... WOW
