League writes CB after he vowed revenge on Kitna

While Newman hasn't spoken to local media this week, he issued what amounted to a warning for Kitna during an interview Tuesday on Sirius NFL Radio.

"Basically what it boils down to is you've got to watch what you say. Your mouth can't write checks that your (expletive) can't cash. That's what it comes down to," Newman said. "Everybody's going to see those quotes. He better just hope I don't blitz off the edge, because I've got 15, 25, 30 (thousand dollars), however much it would be for a fine. I've got that much for one fine. Revenge will be sweet definitely."

In the NFL letter to Newman, Anderson wrote those comments were 'thoughtless and irresponsible" and "contrary to all the NFL stands for."

Damn I didnt realize he said all that. I wonder what the hell he was thinking. Ah well, he knows better than to do anything stupid. Just have Nate Jones do it, I mean hes completely useless otherwise, other than the near sack on Favre all hes done is suck ass this year. Stupid Nate Jones.

First thing is the obvious, you knew this was coming. You can't make threats to someone like that in the NFL, they'll step in with a stiff warning.

Second, NFL continues it's hypocracy by reprimending a player for threatening to do something that if he DID actually do would generate a fine... yet, they will market their video games and highlight videos/DVD with shots just like those.

I guess Newman's play today did not warrant any fines. This has been such a stupid display of ego and bravado. Kitna was very good today, and shut up
