Terry Glenn?

We are 12 & 1 without him.

3-4 weeks back, on the Randy Gallaway show, Michael Irvin made a bold statement that we are better without him. I totally disagreed at the time and was still waiting for him to come back.

He should be back by now. Is he really hurt? Is he just "taking extra care" as to make sure he does not come back too early? Or is he not playing because how we are playing good without him?

Irvin stated that if Terry comes back, he is the type, like TO, that will make a fuss (maybe not to the media) when he does not have enough passes thrown his way. Whether that is true or not, it brings up another question.

Is Glenn, this year's Peerless Price. aka insurance policy?

He is 33 with a fat contract. Signed a 3 year extention worth $20 mil at age 32 keeping him a Cowboy til age 37. Will he, or should he be cut this off season? Should we focus more ou Crayton, Hurd, Miles?

Does anyone know his bonus or cap hit if we cut him?

I don't know about most of that you asked about.

But I did hear on the radio on more than one occasion, pretty recently, like after Thanksgiving, that Glenn had already been jogging, etc. but not making cuts according to Jerry Jones. Jones said that the process from being able to make cuts and getting on the field would be a very short transition. Basically, as soon as he feels he can make cuts, he will get on the practice field very soon after that and get in the game soon after that.

Terry Glenn is the playoff surprise for whomever we stack up against

I don't think Glenn will make a big fuss if he doesn't get his share of passes. Crayton has taken his place and he has been getting a healthy amount of looks all season so I don't see Glenn having a problem once he comes back.

I hope you guys are right. However, at the same time, I would not be surprised if he is waived. Jones may just want to take the salary cap hit (bonus money) rather than pay him multi million per year for a 34-37 years of age. Joey Gallowy, Rocket Ismail & other speed recievers just are not effective in their mid 30's. Maybe Glenn would be different.

With the year hes had and the two years before that I think thats a horrible example.

9th in yards, top 17 in recieving TDs this year. Hes 36 years old, has had two acl tears in his career and is putting up those numbers. Not effective?

05- 83 catches 1287 yards, 10 tds
06- 62 catches 1057 yards, 7 tds

This year (with 3 games left) 55 catches 978 yards 6 tds.
(and hes tied a career high with 6 tackles too  )

Im certainly not happy we wasted 2 firsts on him (which probably set us back 3 years) a long time ago, but his accomplishments cant be diminished because of my feelings on that.

As for Rocket he only played until he was 31. Unfortunately he was our leading receiver in 99 (as sad as that is to say), he was 29 then. (And the year before that he was the leading receiver for the Panthers ahead of Mushin Muhammed).

I get the general statement youre trying to make though, but those are just bad examples.

Jerry Jones said today he expects Glenn to make it on the practice field this week! This is great news. They are thinking not this week but the following week for him to get in a game. With two games under his belt with limited action, maybe he can contribute after the bye?

Come on guys. You all do remember the kind of season Glenn had last year right? Can you imagine if we added that guy onto THIS team. He'd be our Wes Welker, no doubt. Our offense would stack up with New England's and look better, in my opinion, because of Witten.

A deep threat in Glenn? A playmaker in TO? A sure thing in Witten? A wild card in Crayton?

Its the reason why Romo can sleep well at night (that and Jessica Simpson)

it's all nice but im not expecting anything out of him and think he'll probably be gone after this year (think him and maybe TO are both due roster bonuses in March)

i also get a little annoyed when people play the what if card when saying what if we had glenn. if we havent had him all year he shouldnt be an excuse.

Who is making excuses, the what ifs are about how much better the offense can be. Its not as if our offense has had any trouble scoring this year, but its something to think about.... Glenn always ran some good routes.

The real what ifs have come on defense ....but we'll not get into that now.
