Barber
Davis

They picked the right safety. McBrier could have made it.

11 is impressive, tying our most ever from back in '93 & '94. Not sure if any were alternates back then, but...

7 starters is VERY impressive.

And to think we could have up to 15 total since we have 4 alternates (including the "wrong" safety :-) ):

Four Cowboys were picked as Pro Bowl alternates: linebacker Greg Ellis, safety Roy Williams, punter Mat McBriar and special teamer Keith Davis

Ellis should be there without question.

Which brings me to this exchange in the General Board thread about Horse Collar Williams

Gilbert0Arenas wrote:Hes not a dirty player, just incredibly dumb. Its not like Dallas needs him anyways. They suck with or without him in the lineup. DeMarcus Ware is the only good defensive player. The rest are crap or average.

*cough* Greg Ellis *cough*

Sure Ware makes Ellis better but he still is 6th in the league with 11.5 sacks. (And unlike the others ahead of him hes only played 11 games (only started 8 though) not 14.

Crappy player. Stat padder. Has minimal impact on the game. Has never done anything in his career worth noting. The Roy Williams of sacks. He has no impact besides clean up or coverage sacks just like Roy pads his stats with garbage time INT's.

Ellis, Williams. McBrier, Keith Davis alternates. With Taylor elected, would that put Roy on the roster? Never a more undeserving Pro Bowler since, well, since Roy Williams last year.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see Davis making the team.

He was so disappointing with Arizona. Guy had great size, and he just wasted it all back then.

Look at all the talented guys in arizona that flourished elsewhere after being picked there.

Garrison Hearst,
3 years in arizona
1503 rushing yards, 14 fumbles (including 12 in one season), 3 rushing TDs

In 6 seasons (1 with bengals 5 with niners)
6382 rushing yards, 27 rushing TDs (thats amazingly low for a 6 year total though), 14 fumbles (equal to his first 3 seasons)

Jake Plummer
Better in Denver

Corey Chavous
4 seasons 5 INTs, 190 tackles

In minny
4 seasons 14 INTs, 407 tackles

Darwin Walker
They gave up on him after his first year in which he only played one game

Thomas Jones

Kyle Vanden Bosch

Leonard Davis

The last few years they seem to be figuring it out though. The thing about the guys i listed though is they werent just some scrapheap bargains other teams found from the cardinals, they were all first and second round picks other than Walker who was a high first rounder. And all of them went in the top 10 in the rounds they were picked in, usually top 7.

Yup. Make that 5 Pro Bowls in a row for Roy:

Hamlin now starts, first pro-bowl and he starts. Way to go Hammie, you will be cashing out very soon. Nice move!

Greg Ellis has taken the place of injured Lance Briggs.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
