Will Jason Campbell ever get it?

Post#1 » by craig01 » Sun Aug 24, 2008 3:03 pm

Personally, after watching his SEC career at Auburn, I was not thrilled when he was drafted.

Campbell had a great senior season but was surrounded by a championship caliber team.

He continues to show the same defects he had at Auburn.

His fit in the Zorn offense does not seem a good one. Quick decisions and secondary reads are not Campbell's cup of tea.

He's a great guy with a lot of talent....but will he get it soon enough, or ever?

Craig - You know, after watching last night's exhibition debacle, I was wondering the same thing.

He seems to hold the ball way too long
He zeroes in on a reciever too frequently, allowing the secondary to make simple reads

While he does have a strong arm, he never seems to use it. Dink and dump is what Zorn's offense is all about, rarely throwing the deep ball. Besides, his deep ball is prolly a weak point of his game and he is woefully inaccurate (once the strength of Brunell's game).

With Brennan being at least 1-2 years away, this may be a long year for us. Collins has no clue on how to run Zorn's version of the West Coast offense.

Despite a good preseason, I see our boys going 9-7 or 8-8. I hope that I'm wrong...

8-8.

I think I'd be thrilled with that.

I live in Fla, so I don't get much visual exposure, but do listen on Sirius radio live when I can.

I am guessing, just guessing, but my gut feeling along with all of the changes leads me to believe that this year may get very ugly. I really, really hope I am wrong.

I do think the Carolina game was a fluke, but.......

craig - I hope that you are wrong, but I was not entirely surprised by the clubbing in Charlotte. A lot of questions surround our burgandy and gold...too many to make a deep run in the playoffs.

We have no real depth at the corner
Same can be said for D line, O-line. WR is our only real strength.

I was hopin' for 9-7 and a wild card bid. 8-8 may be a bit more realistic - argh!

Well, 9-7 gives HOPE for a playoff spot. 8-8 means the Vinny is preparing for another awkward draft

Vinny might be the second worst gm in the NFL. Millen keeps the #1 tag.

Yeah, and that's not a category I want our Skins to be leading the league!

Yungal:

I admit it. I was wrong. As we sit just beyond the quarter point of the season our boys are 4-1 with the POTENTIAL to be 7-1 (next 3 games against teams with a combined record of 1-10).

Tell you what, I'll be the first to fire up the bandwagon!

So far, the Skins have waaaaaaaay exceeded amy of my expectations.

When I saw the 14-0 score yesterday, I went "yeah, Philly....35-7".

But then, boom. Unbelievable!

I will eat crow when the time comes. This team is playing great football. wow.

The run was nice while it lasted.

Campbell returned ti his old form (bad), and the Skins look defeated.

7-9?

The Skins have many more pressing concerns than Quarterback. Campbell is not the problem here.
