Taylor was shot at the pale yellow house he bought two years ago in the Miami suburb of Palmetto Bay. It came about a week after someone pried open a front window, rifled through drawers and left a kitchen knife on a bed at Taylor's home, according to police.

Sounds to me like that was basically a direct threat...

He went too soon. He was a great Safety, he almost single handedly beat the packers with his 2 ints. From all accounts he was a great father too.

This is one of the saddest things I've ever seen. When I heard the gunshot was in the leg, I thought he'd be okay, just maybe never play in the NFL again.
I know I speak for a lot of people when I say that I am in a saddened, unsettled, shocked state right now. The whole thing is just horrifying.
RIP

I was high on Sean Taylor when he entered the league. A Great player for sure. But it is so awful and sad and shocking when someone you look up to, an idle. Someone that you love like this dies. I wish his family the best of luck from now on.
Rest In Peace Sean Taylor. You will be remembered

I wouldn't think i would cry for a stranger, but growing up in DC and being a Redskins fan you somewhat feel somewhat close to these guys and can talk to total stranger in the area and talk about last Sundays game and the hit Sean Taylor laid on the opposite team. Remember when he lit up T.O. in the regular season, remember when he lit up that punter in the 2007 Pro bowl game. I and the rest of DC will be mourning this lost. R.I.P Sean Taylor you will be missed

RIP Sean. From a Patriots fan good luck the rest of the season. Sean was an unbelievable player and never backed down from anyone. He was tenacious and an outstanding on the field leader. He will be missed

Even though im a giants fan, Sean Taylor was my favorite player in the league. I played football freshman year and sean taylor was my idol. I love how hard he hit and he would make people scared to cross his path. I used to watch Sean Taylor mixes on youtube just to see some of his hits. He was a special player to watch and im going to miss seeing him on the field
RIP Sean Taylor

I've already written both in print and the internet (big difference for me) on the subject it hurts. I never though I really could cry about almost a complete stranger as I have about Sean Taylor. I weeped openly on my grandmother's shoulders this morning after the shock wore off. My 3rd grade class at the Y gave me a thought out group hug on the subject. I don't know how it is to lose someone as a fan like this. I kep telling people that it was a great lost, but I Feel like that is a great understatement. I can't even fathom how it is to lose someone so openly in the media. Does it help to tell someone that you related so heavily with ther love one? Does it help to say that shock was strong, but your emotions were stronger?
All of those above statements are treue, but as a fan as I am what is truly the statement is greatest is wins and losses don't matter to me. Sean has the same first name as me. Is as old as I am. Has a kid as old as my best friends. Played the game as I would play it (with actually less PF's.). I just don't know what to say I'm hurt tremendously by his loss. Death I will never come to turns with but like this it is just that much harder to not say FOOK YOU.

It's hard to see a young person to lose their lives over violent acts and it never gets any easier. Especially if they happen to leave a kid behind in this unfortunate case. I never paid much attention to Sean Taylor's game b/c I don't follow the Redskins too often. From what I heard. He was very good at what he did best on the field and he was apparently turning his life around off the field in the name of his kid. My thoughts and prayers to the Taylor family and the Redskins organizations. Sean Taylor will be missed.

B/c pure Redskins websites such as extremeskins, warpath etc. are so cluttered, I would really appreciate it if people posted any investigation updates that they learn of to this thread. I really want to know all I can about what actually happened here and I think a lot of other people do as well.
