My trade thoughts and predictions?
I really wanted the Kyrie/durant for AD/westbrook trade to happen or at least some iteration where we get rid of westbrook primarily and we receive one of the net stars.
However now that the dust settled a bit , it seems like we're heading into this committed w westbrook/AD/lebron again.
I actualy honestly believe that we can make it to the finals IF westbrook stays in his lane (can the coach have more influence power over him than Frank did?... frank lost his respect and credibility with the group last year. culture comes down set by the leaders. westbrook was perhaps the most vocal about it? i dont mean talk, i mean his attitude, his demeanor towards coach, the way he ignores him, etc may have rubbed off big time w the crew (ad and lebron staying silent i guess) and then the whole ship wrecked. I heard that during the season Frank was ignored by the team ... now i dont know. also i made a lot of assumptions above but who knos im not surpriised if there is some element of truth in there lol
IF AD stays healthy. That is the main key there. I think Frank's main cog in his system was always lebron and AD. the two had to work in tandem in game. Ever see one of them miss a game? We lose that game. Ever see when we had AD out for like 15 or 20 games? lebron lost all those games. Remember when Lebron was out for a while? We were a under 500 team even w Ad playing .
I hope this ham has a better offensive approach. If he does, and AD is healthy and westbrook just buys in for one season , we can go all the way.

I'm all in on Russ/2 FRPs for Hield/Turner:
Beverly / Nunn
Hield / Reaves / Walker IV
LeBron / Brown Jr.
AD / JTA
Turner / Bryant / Jones
Surrounding LeBron and AD with Bev, Hield and Turner puts each of them in an infinitely better position to succeed than last year. Turner in particular really helps AD. He doesn't have to anchor the defense every night and can lean into a more versatile defensive roll, coming off the weakside to contest shots and switching out on the perimeter with rim protection behind him. We combine the frontcourt physicality and rim protection of the 2020 team with the spacing that Gasol provided in 2021.
I also really like that second unit, its a bunch of young guys who will play with energy if nothing else. That team probably isn't racking up a 55+ win regular season, but that roster can go to war with anyone IMO.

Not even a Lakers fan but that would be a SQUAD. No brainer trade because LeBron is aging. Just go for it

Offensively, yes. Defensively, no. Some more veteran wing defense and we can compete. Not enough punch against the Clippers etc with Lonnie Walker hitting the court.
