Rebuild is simple... Trade Westbrook for Irving/Harris... Beverly for pick... LBJ for Ayton & Miles...

PG: Irving (28) & Reaves
SG: Walker (24) & Harris
SF: Miles (25) & Christie
PF: AD (28) & Brown
C: Ayton (26) & Gabriel

love it for a rebuild!

for a championship...

send Nunn, Beverly, and a second round pick for terry rozier and a first round pick

trade AD for Ayton, miles and FRP

send Westbrook, Christie, the FRP (from Cha), FRP from suns, and the two picks (unprotected) for KD and seth... Kyrie will surely ask for a buy out

trade ayton for Turner

Kyrie/rozier
miles/seth
LeBron/melo
KD
Turner

that's a winning squad!

My first choice is Charlotte. Hayward, Rozier, PJ Washington for Westbrook, Nunn, Gabriel + 2027 and 2029 picks. Gives us 3 quality rotation players (including 2 forwards).

My favourite is Indiana but I am very okay with Charlotte (only concern is Hayward's health) option as well. LeBron is still playing great, we had maximised AD when we made him play at 4 most of the time and 5 at clutch in 2020. Myles Turner can be a key contributor in that sense and he will be a great AD sub especially in the defensive end. Hield will be the spot shooter we miss for years.

Either trade the 2 picks + Westbrook for Hield and Turner or blow it up and trade both LeBron and AD for picks and youth.
At this point, I don't care which one - just do one.

Agreed. Make the choice and do it ASAP.

Lakers aren't rebuilding. Should they is debatable. If I'm Pelinka, I wouldn't ... not after trading the farm to acomodate and acquire James and Davis.

If I'm the new GM, sure. Blow it up and start anew ala Danny Ainge. The Lakers, institutionally, would have to decide on a new direction by hiring a new president of operations, but they gave him an extension, bso that's that.

If you're emotionally attached to the idea that the only way to fix this is to blow it up, you should take a long break from following this team.

Judging by this baron board, I suppose that's exactly what's happening.

I like this team with Westbrook coming off the bench. I'd even resign him this summer.

They need: (1) James to play better (2) Walker, Reaves, and Brown to shoot above league average from three and (3) to trade Nunn and Beverley for two shooters:

Lakers trade: Beverley, Nunn, Schroder, and Damian Jones
Lakers get: Fournier, Mykhailiuk, Gabe Vincent, & a NY 1st

Knicks trade: Randle, Fournier, Robinson, Mykhailiuk, and a 1st
Knicks get: Lowry, D.Robinson, Beverley, D.Jones, & two Miami 1st

Heat trade: Lowry, Duncan Robinson, Vincent, and two firsts
Heat get: Randle, Mitchell Robinson, Schroder, and Kendrick Nunn

PG - James - Westbrook - Vincent
SG - Walker - Reaves - Christie
C - Davis - Gabriel - Bryant
PF - Brown - (James) - Anderson
SF - Fournier - (Reaves) - Mykhailiuk

It's not time, it's too late. Should have traded LeBron rather than re-upping him (and Pelinka) in the offseason.

I would only trade LeBron if we're considering trading Anthony Davis as well... but I would consider training Anthony Davis by himself. ideally Chicago (derozan and vucevic) or Atlanta (If they park with Murray)

realistically:

LeBron and nunn for KD and seth

LeBron, Nunn, Christie for Jimmy, max, and nikola

LeBron, Nunn, Christie for harden and Milton

LeBron, Beverly, Nunn, for brown, smart. williams

LeBron, Nunn, Juan, and jones for Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Bobby portis

LeBron, Nunn, Juan, jones for vucevic, derozan, caruso

not as easy:

LeBron, Nunn, Christie ... for Booker and jae crowder

LeBron, Nunn, for love and garland

LeBron, Nunn, for Murray, capela, holiday

LeBron, Nunn, Beverly for Turner, haliburton, and Benedict

Lebron for Shai

I think you WILDLY over-value a 39 year old LeBron on a 1 year contract.

i think you wildly underestimate what fans believe in what LeBron playing for their team means... which essentially translates to insane ticket sales.

... at the end of the day it's a BUSINESS
