Yeah prob. We don't even have our own pick next draft. I'd say 4 years before we started making noise.
But...if I were the Lakers, I'd prob want to get a couple young players from OKC, and only 2-3 picks. I'd also try and move Lebron for a couple picks (he'd have to sign off of course...but I think he'd do GS). None of those picks would be top-20 picks, but there would be alot of them.
Now think about that....your Anthony Edwards....or whatever young player EXTREMELY cognizant of their brand, and all future implications. The Los Angeles Lakers have TONS of cap space, a promising young player or two....and 4-5 picks moving forward. You could move a few of those picks for a dance-partner. Or trade 3 picks for 1 much lower pick. Just pointing out that the rebuild doesn't have to be a traditional rebuild. There are alot of interesting possibilities when you have open cap-space, and multiple picks in your pocket. Not to mention a young player or two.
I dunno....doesn't that sound so much more exciting and interesting than watching this heap go through the motions till Lebron retires?? I mean....you gotta know this team ain't winning a title. Sitting around, and wasting time, is what I can't stand to watch.
