Even if opt out and resigns, It just doesn't make sense for him to not retain that clause.
But it's okay IMO to hope that he agrees to pay cut to allow the Lakers go for a good free agent though.

Agree, I never mentioned it I was just replying to Stan :)

I understand. while we are at it. Also please stop this Lonzo Ball talk. The guy has been stealing money from teams that signed him. Here is the list of injury of this guy.

Also hard no on Jrue Holiday and his humongous contract! Let Boston suffer paying this guy with his very shaky 3pt %.
Also no on Nickeal Alexander Walker. Yes, both guys play defense but JJ will not play them just like he did to Vando and Goodwin.

Wowsers that's a lot of injuries lols. Only reason you go for Lonzo or CP3 for that matter is if you're trading Reaves, If you trade Reaves you'll still need another playmaker outside of Luka/Bron I wouldn't play either one of them with Luka, it's more about giving Luka rest breaks or when his in foul trouble IMO - 10-20 minutes a game wouldn't hurt? but then again I'm sure we can do better then those and another that's been talked about is Dennis, please stay away from him also.

Not sure about Smart's worth.

Yeah, I don’t see Bron volunteering to move to Memphis anytime soon.

I hope and think he does that.

Fillers and cash and picks are of course required to match salaries per the CBA in all of those scenarios I mentioned.

JJJ and Smart would be awesome. Wonder what they’d ask for in return.

Memphis just traded Bane for picks and fillers and is now probably on a rebuild mode so trading JJJ is now not improbable.
The question is do the Lakers have assets they want? how many teams would go after him?

Man I woke up this morning and saw this, KCP, Cole, 4 FRP's and a pick swap for a 32 year old D.Bane, talk about over pay.

But on the bright side, I think Reaves value just went up??

Let's talk too Magic while they're throwing away picks.

Reaves for WCJ and 2 picks. Then we ship those picks our own FRP and Knecht for Kessler  roll with Kessler/WCJ everyone wins, god I'm dreaming now  ...

As for JJJ, no way in hell we have enough assests unless another team is involved - We would have to use the FRP and all 5 pick swaps

But I do have a question for ya's if it comes down between Jarret Allen and JJJ who would you want?

Got a feeling Cavs will have to make some trades to stay under the tax.

Memphis has a rapidly declining and problematic Ja Morant.
They traded away their starting SG for picks and fillers, so the question is, what is their plan for JJJ?
Most good teams have 1-2 reliable bigs in their roster including OKC, Pacers, Denver, Clips, TWolves, NY etc etc.
Even the freaking Heat have 1-2. Boston might need one but their are desperate to shed salary. Bucks are in a down year without Dame. Houston just resigned Adams.
5 teams are rebuilding and not looking to spend $.
So which other teams are in NEED to trade for JJJ? Are they willing to trade picks and assets for him?

I saw this today at work, figured i'd post this here lols
https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/280794/Grizzlies-Not-Looking-To-Trade-Ja-Morant-Jaren-Jackson-Jr

I'm surprised they not moving Ja, not surprised about JJJ. Guess everyone can forget about them two.

I think Lakers should concentrate on Jarret Allen since they trying to get under the tax, they can't trade Garland because his injured and will need Mitchelle, that basically leaves Allen/Mobley left for a trade to stay under the tax.

If Lakers can't get that, time to concentrate on 2nd tier centers in; Kessler, Gafford, Poetl etc.

I don't think they'll move him, he's clearly been their best player, he's only 25 years old and they're already loaded with assets... but there are teams where he'd fit in very well and they have more (many more) assets than the Lakers... Kings/Spurs/Hawks/Nets/Bulls/Pistons/76ers/Raptors/Houston/NOP...
