This also get us under the luxury tax this year.

We would be under the tax this year but will be way over next year after giving Deng the same package or more than what Chicago offered. We still have Turiaf, Bynum, and possibly Ariza and Sasha to condsider extending.

I would still add Vlad for Joe Smith in this deal since Joe has one more year left on his deal. Then Wallace expires one year after Joe. We would have to contine to develop young bigs to take their place such as Turiaf, Gasol, and more bigs through the draft. Buss would just have to pay the tax but it would be for a good team.

Once Bynum is back:

Fish, Farmar, Critt
Kobe, Sasha, Karl
Deng, Ariza, Luke
Wallace, Smith, Turiaf
Bynum, Mihm or Wallace

I like the idea of:

Odom/Kwame/Radmanovic/'08 First (Unprotected) for Deng/Wallace/J. Smith

or

if we did Odom/Kwame for Deng/Wallace

then could we do something like:

Radmanovic for Gadzuric

Forget about Deng they are not trading him. Wallace contract sucks.

Clear space for Elton Brand. Get rid of Vlad and Odom. Bring in EB by all means.

That deal is no where close to working.

Paxson is a very conservative GM. Consider him the exact opposite of Isiah. He's entire team is built up from players that he has drafted or signed through free agency and as such don't expect him to put up a firesale anytime soon.

Someone just pointed this out to me as well (thnkz Emplay)

Why would we trade for Wallace and pay him 15 Million to be a backup center ?

The only way I would take Wallace is if we also got someone like Deng in return.
