I'm more for the idea of situational substitutions, but Phil seems to stray away from alot of that. I'm all for keeping Walton in the starting lineup to see what he can bring game by game. But, when the situation calls for it sub him out and don't bring him in if he's no needed, etc.

Personally, I've always thought it's the best position for him and I hope to see him there much more as his career will start winding down in a few years. He is the perfect triangle player to play the pinch post. It seems to be the most natural position for him. He is disgustingly efficient from there and he will continue to be, even when he starts getting older and slower.
With the emergence of Farmar and Crittenton, I think we might see much more of him at SF in the future. I'm all for it.
Honestly as time has gone by with the injuries to Kwame , Bynum , Ariza .
It has opened up Phil's eyes and mind in playing certain players in different positions , and it has paid off .
I think when we do get into the playoffs , these rotations might be a blessing in disguise in helping us beat certain teams once we face them .

fisher/farmar
sasha/crittenton
kobe/walton
odom/turiaf
kwame/mbenga
I like that lineup for the time being and once Radman is back it should help.
ive long been a strobg advocate for kobe playing at the three...
for a coupla reasons....
his skills and size are suited for the position...
he would expend alot less energy, potentially, as opposed to chasing around smaller faster faster guys...
and in the best of times, kobe at the three just absolutely kills the other threes out there...
the downside as well noted here is that with our team it presents rotation/ sub issues although with farmar/critt/fisher im not so sure it really is an issue...
i was glad to see kobe at the three last night a bit....
hope to see more of that when applicable.

erik, that perfectly summed up up my feeling about that, for years ive been roasted on boards, in bars et cetera for suggesting kobe not be in the back court....

it just felt really good to read that, thanks.
