If we could land Battier for even Odom, it would cap the greatest roster transformation ever (well maybe except for Boston). Its not urgent and I can easily live with LO but Id like the trade too.

I'd certainly consider Battier for Odom as well...just don't see how that get's done salary wise. Houston doesn't have the rest of the $ contracts to make it work.

I noticed this too. Maybe they have their own mckie that they can use in a sign and trade.

Kobe,Gasol,Bynum,Lamar and then coached by PJ? FA's are going to be beating our door down to come here for even the MLE. I bet we could get Artest withe MLE, who knows maybe even Arenas. We are ready for a serious 5 yr run. Getting a All-Star caliber player for the MLE is no longer pipe with the line-up we have now. I have to agree with the pro Battier posters on here, he would be perfect in Lamars spot. He's unselfish, good D, good rebounder, high I.Q. and moves well with out the ball, not to mention he has a sweet mid range game. Do it mitch, you da man!

Lol, Arenas would never give up an extra 10-15 million a year to play on the Lakers.

And even if he was willing too, I'd probably turn him down.

We have the star players on this team, now we have to align the role players around them.

West had Kobe and Shaq, but he had to tweak it with Fox, Horry, Rice, Shaw, etc. to make it work.

That is why I'm against getting Marion at this point: too much ego and we really don't have the money to resign him.

I'd rather get somebody like Battier, Miller, or Nocioni.

All those players make 8 million or less, can shoot lights out, have little ego, and are tough as nails.

I'd definately do that and I'm sure there's players out there to make it work.

I mean, who doesn't want a prorated 6 million to do absolutely nothing?

We'd shed about 8 million in cap space and get a 6'8" guy who is tough, plays d, and shoots the 3.
