If you can run, you can play. Who do you think Kobe is? Lebron? :P

Lebron's a puss. Tape it up! (is it taped?) I've broken my little fingers on both hands and a few other fingers over the years - I always taped them up and kept playing... of course, my right pinky and left middle finger are a little disfigured.

Kobe should sit. he won't be labeled soft if he does. it would help the team in the long run, which is most important.

I think Odom/Fisher/Pau can hold it down until ASG if Kobe decides to sit out.

I dislocated my pinky on my left hand last June. Needless to say, I couldn't grip a basketball without EXCRUCIATING pain for at least 2-3 weeks.

Then, there is always the risk of re-dislocating it if you don't give it time to heal. I didn't play for a whole month, and even afterwards, I kept taping it for an additional 4 months.

Just don't expect Kobe to have hot shooting nights for at least another 2 weeks, which will probably disqualify him from the 3 pt contest.

I'd rather see Kobe enter the 3-point contest, shooting left handed and behind his back. And after not making one shot, a new record for the contest, I want Kobe to leave the court majestically in a Leonardo Da Vinci robe like the Renaissance champion that he is, hailed by a chorus of boos accompanied by a distinct chant for "Anthony Parker."

Bow down to Blackwolf the Dragonmaster.

Kobe will be fine. It would be nice though to let him get a game or two to rest. to my knowledge a dislocated finger will not heal in a couple days, but it would be good to let his finger stop swelling. if we can cut his minutes and let the machine and Coby play a couple minutes here and there just to give him a break, would be good for the lakers. More time off when he can will be better so that Kobe also isnt worn out by the time bynum and ariza get back before the playoffs. Kobe is a warrior and wont sit a game because of a finger, but if we can cut his minutes i think that would be good.

Haha, creative miles. I think Kobe will be fine. If he continues to facilitate since our new found depth is with us, along with clutch shots being knocked down by vlad, sasha, along with Lamar the last 2 games, we will be fine. The less stress Kobe has to put on the finger the better. He may not have to miss any games if he doesnt strain himself too much.

I'm just in a spirited mood today after listening to that Mitch interview today, and learning Bynum is right on schedule with reduced swelling.

BRYANT HEALING

Bryant reported improvement in his right pinky finger as a result of nonstop treatment with pads, ice or electro-stimulant since the Lakers' loss in Atlanta on Wednesday night. He said he would play Friday against Orlando without taping the injured finger to his ring finger.

"I have to," he said. "I just can't handle or shoot the way I want to (with the tape)."

Bryant joked that he could have picked up "a couple more fans" by continuing to wear the tape that made his hand resemble the "Star Trek" Vulcan greeting. But he acknowledged the injury might result in him skipping the Feb. 17 All-Star Game and the 3-point contest the previous day.

"Maybe," he said. "We'll have to see how it goes."

So many bad shooting nights? Really? He's had a few, but he's been right at his career average.

Steve Nash he's not, but Kobe has one of the highest field goal percentages among starting shooting guards.

I think Ronnie Brewer, Monta Ellis, Rip Hamilton, Mike Miller, Kevin Martin, Wade, and Roy are higher, but of those, Rip, Miller, and Martin are the only real shooters.

Gary Vitti probably feels like Kobe's slave

Kobe should drive in for slams or get fouled

no more long shots and no dribbling...

Kobe's one of the best recovery players out there. I just hope this injury doesn't linger into late in the season... any word on his wrist? (he still wears that arm sleeve).

Kobe should try to penetrate as much as possible, but I don't know about slamming it, maybe with his left. I can see Kobe shooting left handed until it heals.

It would be nice Utah loses Boozer for two months, NOH loses Chris Paul for two months, SAS lose Duncan for two months, Houston loses Yao for two months, Portland and Denver lose Aldridge and Carmelo for two months...And then I will laugh at their faces.

That would actually be fair. That is what it's been like for us but at least Bynum has no risk of hitting any wall.
