Bynum Update!!!

Post#1 » by iamworthy » Sat Feb 9, 2008 4:04 pm

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Meanwhile, back at home . . .

Andrew Bynum continues to heal, which the Lakers will accept as an added pick-me-up while working their way through a 15-day trip.

Bynum was expected to be out at least eight weeks after sustaining a bone bruise in his left knee and a dislocation of his left kneecap Jan. 13 against Memphis. He would return the week of March 9 if he came back eight weeks from the time of the injury.

"That was kind of the thought when the injury happened," Lakers spokesman John Black said Friday. "We have no reason to change that right now. We will continue to monitor it.

Good to hear. Once that happens the Lakers gear up for the Playoffs and see what they can do.

Just as I expected.

Odom had a sprained knee last year IIRC and he came back in 3-4 weeks. So I'm expecting about 5-6 weeks from Bynum since it's been almost a month already.

Nonetheless, good to hear.

What I like about the Pau trade is that when Bynum comes back, we can bring him along slowly and maybe bring him off the bench until he gets back to where he was.... When he first gets back:

Fisher/Farmar
Kobe/Sasha
Rad/Luke
Odom/Turiaf
Gasol/Bynum

Is anybody else worried that even when Bynum is 100% Phil might not start Bynum and Gasol and Odom together? I am.
I am really happy about the Shaq trade because that could make Phil start Bynum and Gasol together to match up with Shaq and Amare.
I think if we do start Bynum and Gasol together with Odom the championship will be ours and odds are Phil will do that but I am just a little nervous about it. What about you guys, do you think there is anyway he won't? (When there all 100% I mean)

Phil will start the best five, and he has a little bit of experience when it comes to putting together line-ups. I'd be very surprised to see him not starting

Fisher
Kobe
Odom
Gasol
Bynum

But if he doesn't, I'll trust that there is a good reason for it.

Phil has already said that he is looking forward to the "twin tower" line ups cause it would create havok match up wise for other teams...
I dont have a link for it, but im sure some of you guys remember it, it was on an interview he had somewhere
So im sure the Gasol/Bynum line up will be used
