Meh, after the Lakers gave up on Shaq, I really don't see much security in being traded, not traded, or staying on one team. Unless the Lakers become a loser like Memphis who traded him or the T-pubs who traded KG, then I can see Gasol staying.
With the two towers of terror, Gasol and Bynum, its hard to see the Lakers not contending for years to come even with a declining Kobe. So to that effect, Gasol has a great chance of staying especially seeing the competitive fire he has shown. If he can maintain that he'll stay a Laker and have #16 hanging from the raptors some day.
Also, when you got players who don't have the fire in his belly like Kobe has, you will eventually get traded. eg. Kwame. Bynum needed that fire to be the player he is this season. That's why now you start seeing the expectations being met and then some from him.
Too bad Shaq couldn't maintain that while he was a Laker. Instead he just had Krispy Kreme donut's in his belly.
