^Maybe they expect to sign someone else who would get bought out and they could resign him. So I don't think its being cheap.
Honestly DJ doesn't play that much. Turiaf could easily take his minutes. But if someone gets injured, then the Lakers can sign them to a 10-day.
Goodbye DJ

I can't believe I'm saying this but I honestly think no one has the right to say that at least for now ever since Mitch waved his magic wand and *poof* got us Gasol. He knows what he needs to do. If he doesn't sign DJ for the rest of the year, that's fine by me. If he does, I'm good on that decision too.
Who knows. Maybe Mitch has plans to trade Luke and Odom for 4 awesome players so leaving 2 empty spots might have its reasons.

any bets on whether or not this will come back to bite us in the arses?
Absolutely. I heard that ORL and DAL are looking for another big man. If they end up signing him and we ever face DAL on the playoffs, DJ can stick it back to our face... lol

Hold the goodbye tears for now...

After further review, the Lakers are leaning toward keeping DJ Mbenga in case Chris Mihm isn't ready to play after the All-Star break, a team source said.
