His value should be higher from winning the 3 point contest. Why not?

We could use another UCLA player.

Coangelo over in Toronto......that's what I call big money for a shooter. Riley would have re-signed him but that offer from Toronto was too good to turn down. I'm not mad at the Messiah for taking that deal.

It takes a bad contract to entice a player away from their team. Miami didnt want to match that kind of contract which in that sense is a good thing, but they also didn't make up for it with a good enough trades and pick ups and ended up with more scrubs and bad players like ricky davis. Which is why Miami is so horrendous. Toronto had the money, but some surprisingly good players are now blossoming and they now are going to have trouble signing them... it makes sense as they don't want to lose someone so young as calderon to another team putting up huge offers as PG position for a lot of teams are a huge need. I think most people can name atleast 5 teams right now that could use a PG like calderon.
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

Raptors like Kapono. They're just looking into options to clear cap space to sign their other role players.

Raptors just signed him and they wanna trade him already? The NBA just ships anyone around these days. Its like musical chairs.

Rad is better than Kapono in every phase except for shooting (and even then they are both shooting over 40% from 3).

Rad has the advantage of being able to play 3 positions (C against small ball lineups).

Would be (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to not want Vlad over Kapono... We have a better Kapono in Sasha V....

Statistically there isn't much of a difference between them, but yeah Rad is a better player period. Even though I'd have more confidence in Kapono hitting a three at the end of a game, it'd be harder to find him open. Kapono's been working on his all-round game, but he's still quite limited.

Nobody anticipated Calderon to have the season that he's having and it's really complicated things for Toronto. The problem for Kapono right now is that Delfino does everything but better, excluding shooting of course. So if they can trade Kapono for an expiring it's no big deal. He's also expendable because so many of Toronto's key players are able to make threes (league top 30 in 3pt shooting: 1. Kapono, 5. Parker, 6. Calderon, 29. Bargnani, and 29. Delfino).

AHhh alfurd's here!! We miss you man!!!

And as for Kap, like I said on the Ariza thread, anything that moves Luke Walton from here is a go.

However, we have Vlad already who is a better rebounder and passer as well as an equally bad defender than Kapono. We also have solid three point shooters. What we need at our SF spot is defense right now with Trev being out.
