It's interesting that when Phil came back, the Lakers lacked that dominant post player and it was speculated that he would use his system much like he had in Chicago with Michael and Scottie.

It was also widely known that the Lakers did need some type of post presence and would likely have to move Butler or Odom to get any kind of live body. So you know with Phil coming back to the team and making huge jack that he had to sign off on moving Butler as opposed to Odom.

When it was widely debated as to which player would fit into Pippen's role role better, which most agreed at the time it was Butler. Certainly, the Wiz would have taken Odom in place of Butler at the time of the deal.

Phil was also said to have not been a Bynum guy...so with Mitch riding the momentum of the Gasol deal, perhaps it's better to let Mitch and the Buss' handle the personnel from here on out.

Amen to that.

Anyone remember how reckless Kobe was playing to close out that season, where he was throwing lobs to himself off the backboard? It was painful to watch.

odom to the wiz was never a possibility simply due to money issues.

And you'd still get laughed at and hung up on.

Butler is a Wizard for life. It would take a complete raping (and I mean Odom and Bynum for Butler and Thomas) to make this happen.

We don't need him. Kobe takes his shots.
We need to get better defensively.
Everybody needs to pick it up.

Ariza and Bynum add alot of D. Bynum needs to be learning D even if he is not on the court.

Why would the bullets do it?
They suuuck and should start rebuilding, and not around Caron. With what they had there they underachieved terribly last year and are so unlucky even a kwame led steal couldn't change their fortunes. I call it the curse of 45.
