take it run.

Average NBA players are the Walton's, Turiaf's, and Farmar's of the league.

Smush would be what you'd call a "replacement level" player.

Agreed; that was probably my favorite post of the month.

I hated the whole "Smush-sucked-because-management-didn't-take-care-of-him argument."

I don't blame management at all for giving him a shot, or for not giving him an extension that he didn't earn. Sometimes guys can turn themselves around in the right environment. One of my favorite pro athletes of all time, future Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter, was the result of such a gamble.

Put the blame where it belongs. The guy had two years to prove himself with one of the most famous and successful pro franchises in the world. Instead of grabbing his opportunity and choking it to death with both hands, like 99 percent of all D-League types would have, William pouted his way out of a job. And most likely, an NBA career.

He's living, breathing proof that attitude truly is everything. I look forward to watch him play out his days on the And-1 tour.
