what do you mean?!? Eric Pincus is both respected and well-known! This is the guy that broke the Marcus Banks/ Chris Mihm trade weeks before it happened. He also told of many other deals that never came to fruition such as boozergate, bendergate, etc.

Right now he works for hoopsworld? I know he posts in Cl but i usually read people who write for si, La times, Oc register...esp...

No offense to him but thats just my preference, i just don't see hoopsworld as a legit place...

Sarcasm Guy. Emplayed has lost his credibility here long time ago. I'd probably listen to Jack Haley over him. And I'm being dead serious.

actually he has gotten better. I will admit that a few years ago he had work to do in how to distinguish rumors from fact, but he has improved a great deal. he even came here and admitted his mistakes. I think the guy deserves another chance and you can see in the quality of his articles that he has gotten a lot better + he seems like a nice guy.

emplay is cool.

we just have traditionalists who like simers/plaschke and some of the other writers who do the same, but dont have to take risks because theyve got tenure at the big time publications.

the thing that pissed a lot of people off about Emplay was that... he was a self-proclaimed Laker correspondent/ "journalist" and he tried to make a name for himself dropping rumors - not only dropping them, but sometimes guaranteeing them (see Bendergate).

...and then he would use his rumors to stir up hype for his articles and in the process, hoopsworld. the whole thing wreaked of Agenda.

but he's gotten a lot better, mainly because he doesn't drop rumors anymore and just plays it safe.

Edit - Oh and I almost forgot to add, his penchant for "careless" journalism... e.g., KG buys a house in Malibu/ KG is seen with Buss/ Etc. Which almost always was elaborated on in his articles, like what it would take to get KG here.
