I don't think we need another scoring guard, but it will be nice having him next to Kobe.

1. Doubt anybody knows what the Lakers' plans are - including Mitch and co. And anyways, the Lakers FO is tight-lipped like Snaq's pink tacos.
2. Doubt Buss pays 40m a year (incl. luxury tax) for Gil
3. Wiz would ask for Farmar rather than Fish

on the other hand:

Basketball-wise, since he can pass and shoot, Gil would play fine in the triangle. He knows how to score anywhere on the court. He'll probably be the 2nd best triangle player by the 2nd day of practice.

Ego problem is an overrated problem. Arenas is not Shaq. He knows what the pecking order would be, he worships Kobe.

Odom's loss only hurts the frontcourt if we expect Pau and Bynum to be injured.

Still highly, highly unlikely, due to assumptions that the Wiz won't give the max to Arenas and that Buss is willing to set a record in luxury tax.

I think there's a better chance of betting on Gilbertology, surprising everybody by taking a paycut to play for the Lakers.

The point being missed here is the Clippers are trying to get something for Corey Maggette since he is going to most likely opt out at the end of this season.

Shooting guard Corey Maggette of the Los Angeles Clippers will be another one looking to see what the Magic will do, which is why he smiled last week when he was asked about opting out of the final year of his contract to become a free agent this summer. Maggette has an option to make $8.2 million with the Clips next season, but all the losing now seems to have worn him out. If Elton Brand leaves this summer, he might do the same.

The Magic probably could get him for the mid-level exception ($5.5 million) if they extend it out for five years. Maggette started his career in Orlando, but he was traded after one year during the salary cap purge of 2000. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/b ... umn?page=2

And if he is willing to take the mid level for 5yrs. the Lakers should be all over that Maggette would be awesome lined up next to Kobe!

But I would also pass on Gilbert.

im going to say no for arenas, but maybe he will swing over to the other la team.

arenas is a great player but just doesnt fit in my opinion with the lakers, he wants his shots and though the triangle gives position to get people open shots i dont think that will appease him. I see him passing then getting the ball back for a shot. plus its another max contract that mitch will have to pay.

This isn't from hoopsworld... I think you're mistaking hoopshype (a site that posts rumors from other sources) and hoopsworld.

Pass on Gilbert though, I just don't think he would fit in on our team.

Any article that mentions moving Fisher+<whoever> for <whoever> is 100% bogus. The Lakers aren't trading D-Fish, and that's that.

Lets stick to the facts

Whats the Wizards record with Arenas and without him?

2005/2006 - 45-37

2006/2007 - 42-40

This season - 33-33

Keep in Mind Caron Butler was out for over a month. There on pace to equal the last 2 seasons with Butler missing a month in the season. They easily could have had a better record had Caron not missed a month.

Arenas is a exciting Volume shooter who gets you pumped up as a fan for 3 straight games, but then he will go on a 10 game stretch where he is shoooting 35% from the field. The Classic VOLUME SHOOTER

Gilbert reminds me of World B Free in the early 1980's

So they were on pace for about 46-36 had he stayed healthy.

Lets say he plays those 9 games and they end up 6-3

This season they are 34-33 and Butler missed almost 2 months. There record would have been pretty much the same.

The big games he has make you forget the 10 game stretches where he shoots a low percentage.

I'm wit semi on this. To give up Fish.......Hells No!!! 1 yr removed from one William Parker, Fish is a bonus to somebody like Jordan Farmar. An as much as L.O suck at tmes, he has balled in the playoffs where alot of the player fall off..

I dig agent 0,but he would hurt Jordans development.

^+1.

We cannot give up fisher and any filler for arenas. It just wouldnt make sense. Farmar has stepped up his confidence and has spoke highly about fisher. If you take Fish away there goes a leader and there goes the best friend of kobe's that has done what he can to mend the situation since Kobe's trade talk.

Usually has to be in the trade thread or at least I though.

Phil what's up with your sig? Gasol was worth it no matter what other trades happened.

trade thread, is gone. Trade deadline is over. A new one will pop up in the Summer.

I know thats the joke. If you see it was written by a Warrior fan , who thinks we got Gasol because they got Webber.
