OT- who has and hasn't impressed you in the NCAA tourney?

Post#1 » by Gus McCrae » Sun Mar 23, 2008 7:59 pm

This is my firs year watching the NCAA tournament in it's entirety and I wanted to get all your thoughts on what players to watch for:

Here's what I've noticed so far:

Beasley (Kansas st.): I saw both of his games so far and this guy is sick. Absolutely lived up to the hype I believe and if Kansas St. would've fed him the ball in 2nd half they could've beaten Wisconsin.

Kevin Love (UCLA): Projected to go 10th in the draft? Are you kidding, I'd take this guy over OJ Mayo all day. he was so clutch in the win against Texas A&M. If he was a Laker I'd wet myself.

Oj Mayo (USC): this guy appears VERY overhyped to me. I've only seen a couple games with him, but he seems too undersized. Granted a better passer and thief than I'd realized; but I would not draft this kid top 5.

Stephen Curry (Davidson): badass. I've seen some of the hi-lites, but hey,he dropped 40 in the first game of the tournament to pull and upset. And those knicks fans are jocking him. He reminds me of Kevin Martin, but I haven't seen enough of him to say much.

Let me know who's impressed you guys so far so I can watch for them.

So I'm taking it that you didn't watch any college ball before the tourney??

This is the first year I've really watched before the Final Four so I'm not too informed on everyone.

Stephen Curry is too small for a SG, but he sure can shoot the ball.

One of the guys who has really impressed me in the NCAA tourney is back up point guard Joe Mazzulla from West Virginia... He absolutely killed Duke, which happens to my favorite college basketball team. Pressed in to duty on Saturday, Mazzulla scored 13 points (all on drives to the basket) and dished out 8 assists. And at only 6'2, he also grabbed 11 boards over Blue Devils, all taller than him.

Saw the game between Memphis and Mississippi St.

Wasn't overly impressed with Derick Rose.

Was impressed though with the play of Chris Douglas-Roberts from the Tigers. Man got smooth moves.

I know I am taking the Capt. Obvious stance, but man Beasley is a straight stud. Reminds me of Mcdyess before his knees went out. Kevin Love is a warrior, not sure what type of pro he will be but very tough in college. No one else has really jumped out to me much. Mayo and Rose are way overrated.

honestly curry is reminding me more and more of AI without the domestic problems. he is short, fast, has a great perimeter shot, can take it inside, and is fearless. too bad lakers don't have a spot or a pick for him
