We have no interior D right now. Ronny trys but he just isnt a real presence.

Once we have Bynum and Gasol clogging the interior, the bobcats will not score 50 points in the paint.

Someone mentioned our role players. It is true that our role players have taken on bigger roles with the injuries. Some have done better than expected, ( Sasha, Ronny) and others ( Farmar, Walton) have done worse.

I think however that sasha is getting to arrogant. Once our guys come back, everyone will go back to there naturally role. Radman has been trying to attack the basket but bless his heart, just stick to shooting. Guys have tried to do more than there abilities allow.

Maybe I am making excuses for them. I just think that we have solid role players and they are now being asked to do more than they are capable of.

^You right on point Lakeshow2008, guys been trying to do more then whats expected of them and what their playing ability will allow.

Luke now known as "Puke" here now is just stuck in the Twilight Zone. And Jordan has been suckin too since he started to let his hair grow again, when he had the low cut he was playing gangsta style now he trying to be Hollywood again.[/b]

The 50 win curse I guess. We need to get this monkey off our backs and move forward soon.

By the way see any pattern between the Blazers, Bobcats and the Hawks troubling us this season?

All young and athletic teams.

True but the real problem is this and the Lakers know this too and thats the point guard spot. I love D-Fish but he'll be better suited for a back up role the question is weather Jordan can be a true lead guard ?

Thats where those teams are better then us,well Felton is ok but he'll never be ALL-STAR material like CP3 and Deron Williams.

If thats the case you better hope we don't run into the Warriors in the playoffs. You won't have to worry about the 3 teams you mentioned above.

Welcome to the club and I've been advocating the need for a starting material PG for quite a while now.

Good point but we should be outscoring any team when we are healthy. The first half offensive woes have been a recipe for disaster over the past few games.

I know we're shorthanded, but it's so embarassing !

I bet that a shorthanded Spurs, Suns or Hornets would crush the Bobcats no problem...it's just we, inconsistent basketbal over the last few games.

It's so upsetting when you beat the Mavs, Jazz and Warriors on the road and loose to Bobcats at home...damn !

It's everyone's fault, not only Phil's for being passive during the time-outs !

One question bothers me : "Will we see this team 100 % healthy this year ?"

No exscuses, Lakers should of never played to the talent of the Bobcats. Granted, we do have problems with quick athletic pg's. But this should of never happend. There is no time to be slacking, because we can drop from the 2nd seed, to last place. Kobe needs to keep his composure.

But we just have to learn from this, and drive on.

This team looks tired. Playing 8 games in a span of 12 days with an 8 man rotation and most of the starters logging some heavy minutes is starting to take it's toll, imo. We need to start geting players back... I can't believe how long our bigs are recovering, not to mention Ariza.

Bad loss, but things will get better, I'm sure of it.

This game was evidence of Kobe being a bad leader, not to say hes a bad leader overall but tonight was a blemish for him. He needs to re-focus imo.

I understand he is playing hurt but I would rather him not play than him go out there and be half though Kobe with the same amount of shots. This playing with injury thing isn't the sign of a strong leader, player etc. sometimes its stupidity and after the back of last nights game and his performance against GSW it looks like stupidity, however he'll probably go and drop 50 in his next game and we'll be all calling him a genius again.

I'm not too worried at all really, we have a long list of injuries so I know we will naturally improve when we get players back.

Damn you, Gary Vitti.

I also blame Mbenga for being so ugly, Coby Karl for being so pasty, and Kurt Rambis for his high-school vice-principal suits.

The rest of the team can piss up a rope, too, for playing crap defense. Not just Kobe -- everybody.

Somewhere along the way we got spoiled. We need to keep in mind that right now we are essentially playing with pretty close to last years team. The differences are that our role players are much improved, and that Kobe can't physically do what he has in past years due to only having 1 and a half hands (so let's call it a wash). When our shooters are on we can overcome our vast problems and still play like an elite team even though right now (due to injuries) we just simply aren't. Let me say that again, we simply are not an elite team right now (and please name a team that would be without their PF and C that happen to be the 2nd and 3rd best players on the team, not to even mention Ariza and Mihm)

Look at this objectively, the Bobcats are just as good as our current team if everyone on our roster plays an average game. If our guys collectively play better than average we win, if they play average it is a nail biter, and if they play below average we lose. Last night our shooters were off by a lot, so why are we surprised that we lost by double digits? We need to face reality that with our current injuries anything beyond a .500 winning clip is overachieving due to great sharpshooting.

The only thing that I feel we have the right to complain about (other than Kobe's deal with the refs) is that we haven't adjusted well to our missing players. When we have one of Gasol or Bynum we can afford to have Fish, Vlad, THE MACHINE, and Farmar launch a lot of 3's because most of them are in the flow of our game, and with our size we can get a lot of offensive boards (especially with Bynum). Right now though it seems like we are forcing a few, and therefore almost destroy our chances of beating any team outside of the bottom 5 in the league if 3 or more of those guys are off from beyond the arc.

If Lamar would demand the ball, and teamates would find him more (I blame both Lamar and the other 4 on the court for this mutually) we may be able to become a little more consistent without our injured guys, but even then we still need to face the reallity that with our current injuries we are an up and down .500 type team.

That is why this thread is so frustrating, so many on here are expecting way too much out of this team. Cut these guys a break, I watched last night's game and I am very frustrated by it, but it isn't as bad as some of you are making it. Yes even with our injuries that was a winnable game, but on an off shooting night this team will not beat any .300 or better team in this league. Stop expecting too much.

I predict friday Crittenton is gonna drop 40 on us for trading him. Kwame is gonna go 30/10, Mike miller will be 20/20 from 3

Rad and Fish will be SOO open from Kobe's passes that no Grizzlies will be within 10 feet of either of them, and none of their open 3 shots will fall within 10 feet of the rim

Lamar is going to steal rebounds again from Ronny and Mbenga, which results in both player's spraining their kneecaps, Lamar will get 30 rebounds, shoots 1/5 for the game

On defense all of our guys will avoid the 3 pt line like it was the plague, which in addition to Miller's 20/20 Kwame will rain fire from 3 by going 5/5

When Kobe comes onto the floor, it will be 1 on 5 basketball, Kobe will will achieve a quintuple double; 30 pts on 15/50 shooting, 10 rebs, 10 asts, 10 TOs, 10 pfs, and 2 technicals from complaining

Phil will fall asleep during the 60+ points blowout and starts to have wet dreams about Jeanie

end result; Grizz 141-29 lakers

We lost this game when Phil took out Mbenga when we were close. Lamar was on Okafur for a lil and then Ronny. They were just too small to handle him. Another brilliant coaching move by Phil.
