I love Kobe, the best player in the nba. But there is a reason why some people don't like him. Some of the things he did earlier in his career, I strongly disagre with. Other things he did, I understood. I can forgive and forget. Some people can't. It's going to be like that for the rest of his career.

How many people would be complaining if the Lakers won the game? Exactly...

I still find it funny that most of the NBA media, like B-Scott, criticize Kobe for his "selfishness"... has he been passing it more this season than the last 3 seasons? Not really. Does it show more this season? It most certainly does, because Sasha, Farmar, Turiaf, Fisher, and Vlade have all "found" their shot this season; no Kwame means less fumbled catches which turn into TOs; Pau Gasol can score 20+ on any night; Bynum can catch, hell, he can finish with the best of them. Kobe still scores, he is the league's second leading scorer, and he can still score 40+, even 50 or 60, on any given night... still does (except for 60). The only difference in Kobe's game that I see is trust... he doesn't pass it to his teammates more, he just passes it to them willingly now.

Tell you what, if Odom didn't go 1-7, we win the ball game, Kobe's great offensive performance doesn't go wasted, we don't drop one to a crappy team in a tight playoff race, and this thread wouldn't even exist.

Actually, this thread probably would still exist, since obviously B-Scott has been jonesying for something to complain about Kobe, finally.

Well, isn't that short-lived?

Next game:

"Kobe got everybody involved," Jackson said. "Teams are just making a conscious effort to throw the kitchen sink at me, so we have to have that trust where guys knock down shots, and we were able to do that," Bryant said.

He drops 13 assists as Sasha, Walton, and Fish step up FTW. This, after the three players in question stunk it up against Memphis.

That's called trust. That's called leadership.

Waiting and waiting and waiting to pounce on something negative about Kobe is a short-lived, set-yourself-up-to-eat-your-own-words-in-two-days enterprise.

What does Lamar have to do with the thread? You tell me not to make it about Lamar vs Kobe, but your doing the same thing.

In basketball, weather it's in the NBA, College or streetball,it's impossible to get in to a rythym when one guy takes 37 shots. You forgot to add that Kobe came out firing early and often. You also forgot to add Pau Gasol said at halftime in a interview that players get COLD when they don't touch the ball for a while. Which is why they struggled when it counted.

If Kobe is this easy to piss off to the point where he vents to the point of shooting on every possession, then if im Raja Bell, Shane Battier or Bruce Bowen,im talking some serious trash to Kobe. Especially if he comes out cold.

All you got to say is Look bro your 1-6. Im locking you up. That will get under Kobe's skin and he will shoot his team out the game because he will take it personel and try and prove he can dominate me. Sasha will be wide open in the corner,Lamar might have a wide open layup, but because i got in his ear and told him i was locking him up, that made him forget about his teammates. Im sure Raja Bell has used this tactic

A ref makes you vent to the point of being over aggressive. If im a opposing teams defender im loving this because i know i can easly piss him off and make him shoot 37 times.

This is the difference between Kobe, Jordan and Magic Johnson. Mental

Kobe is easy to piss off and you can throw him off his game. Like i said above, i wouldnt be surpised if Raja Bell made a few comments to Kobe in last years playoffs. He gets so pissed off to the point where he forgets about the team.

You mean like in the Memphis game where he scored 53 points and carried us all throughout the game while pretty much every single one of his teammates didn't play defense (except for Lamar and Turiaf) and couldn't hit a wide open shot to save their lives all night (including Lamar and Turiaf)?

Also.. this is a different take on the quotes from the first article.. Weird. It doesn't say the "venting" was about the shooting:

"Phil Jackson felt the need to remind Kobe Bryant of what a good teammate he has been all season, because there was tension between Bryant and his teammates during Friday night's loss. 'I just said, 'Hey, just don't destroy the relationship you've built with the players this year,' ' Jackson said. 'He said, 'Naw, it's not going to affect us, what we do. I just had to get out and vent what was irritating me.' Bryant yelled at Jordan Farmer for not passing to him. He yelled at Luke Walton for not calling a timeout late in the game and instead throwing the ball away. 'He was obviously irritated about the game prior to that,' Jackson said."

What i see is he gets irritated easy and that affects his ability to come out and play team ball.

If im a opposing player im using this to my advantage.

Kobe has a temper problem and that affects his ability to play team basketball on a consistent basis.

Frankly speaking,

Jordan kept passing the ball to Sasha who had already took 15 3 pointers and clanked most of them and Luke made a terrible mistake by not taking a time out on the last play.

I'm not worried about Kobe putting his teammates to the sword when they make mistakes. Those mistakes in the playoffs could be a lot more fatal.

Him taking ill advised shots, thats another thing though.

B-Scott, you were intellectually dishonest with the way you cut and pasted the quotes.

Kobe's venting was in the form at yelling at Farmar. That's why Jackson said "don't ruin the bond you've made with your teammates."

The shooting was not the venting, but you Michael Moore spliced to make it seem like Kobe's anger/venting was the cause for his shooting.

We don't know why Kobe shot a lot. But it wasn't clear that it was "venting."

You suck.

A bad game from Kobe is 55 points in a loss where he finds teammates for open looks to win it...

Thats high standards

What would they be saying if only got 40...

All because i posted a simple article. Ya make it sound like i made the comments in the article. When there is a article about any Laker, usually it's posted. If Tex Winter has a article on Lamar about not understanding the triangle,or Luke is doing a great job within the offense the article gets posted.

Bottom line is hopefully he doesn't let little things affect his ability to play team basketball in the playoffs. Weather it's the ref making a couple of bad calls or Raja Bell telling him I GOT YOU LOCKED UP SON

Will that make him try and prove he can dominate Raja. If so,then thats what Phoenix wants.

This thread was locked because I think all that was said needed to be said. B-scott others disagreed with your position after the one game... and you have a theory on Kobes temper and how it could be a problem.

Unless someone wants to PM me and tell me where else this can go I will be all ears. Other than that , I dont see what else is left to discuss.
