The only players I'd consider as a replacement for Odom at this point in time would be Shane Battier and Caron Butler (plus filler), but most likely, that won't happen. Why those two? Because of their ability to go head to head with Pierce. At this point we have an answer to every team except the Celtics, and we have an answer to every Celtics player but Pierce. He's a total beast to defend and he's a top notch defender. We don't have anyone hard-nosed and strong enough to slow him down at this point.

But losing Odom is under any circumstances a big loss. He does so many things for this team.

Health easily. Ariza and a further improved Sasha/Vlad will cover our chucking as they can drive more. Farmar will continue improving his passing. Bynum/Gasol/Ronny will clear most of our center minutes. Lamar/Gasol/Ronny take the PF minutes. Odom/Ariza/Luke/Vlad take the three. And so for. We ming need a backup big but other than that we do have the minutes to need a FA player.

I don't expect Vlad back next season he's improved his value this season and because of that I think the Lakers will trade him for financial reasons. The Lakers could get a pick or two for him. It will be similar to what happend with Kurt Thomas and the Suns.

You actually think Baron would even consider the MLE? Only way he does that is if he has the "Market" clause in his shoe contract. Then i think it's a possibility.

This would probably spark another trade/FA frenzy throughout the league.

I can see it now... Jermaine Oneal opts out to sign MLE with Celtics.

Iverson signs with Suns or Hornets for MLE

Artest signs with Spurs for League Min...lol

The Lakers will hang onto the core and add some additional pieces therefore we assume all we have is the LLE & MLE to work with this summer... I would grab Beno from Sac or a Pietrus if Ariza isn't going to be 100% healthy... I would also shop Walton for salary CAP relief... Our lineup would be as follows:

PG: Beno (6'3") & Farmar (6'2")
SG: KB24 (6'6") & D Fish (6'2")
SF: Ariza (Pietrus) (6'7") & Radman (6'10")
PF: LO (6'10") & Turiaf (6'10")
C: Gasol (7'0") & Bynum (7'1")

Obviously, we have other players who could fill spots and we could get Gasol and Bynum on the floor together but we would havbe allot of interchangeable parts... I have been told that Beno is our #1 offseason target...

I'm the first one to welcome inside "info", but who ever told you that must be joking.

I really dont see any major trades this coming summer, LO will still be a Laker and everyone will be back. But the only difference is who we bring aboard. With the MLE and LLE, it may not seem like a possibility to get anyone but we are the Lakers and with the continue success we will attract some good bench players for us.

as far as beno, seems good but i dont like him as a player. it was discussed earlier that blake may be a target and i think that would actually be better for us then beno. that is just my opinion, but then again i would also like to have marcus banks with a min contract.

but the most important thing at this time is the current game before us and not whats happening over the summer. We still havent seen this team play together and I really cannot wait to see what happens with them.

After seeing how well Fisher and Farmar have played all season why do some you guys here still want a new PG? And also the only trade I see happening for the Lakers is a Vlad trade for picks mainly to just lighten luxury tax hit the Lakers will take next season.
