It took janerro 4 or 5 years to develop a consistent jumper, that's why he wasn't kept.

when you're just a shooter and you can't "shoot"...that happens.

Also in the triangle is more organized then their free flowing offense. Some ppl do good in other systems. i.e. Steve nash plays better in fast paced offense rather then some offenses with set plays like the mavs.
The only man that can stop Kobe Bryant is . . . Phil Jackson.

i wanted us to split our MLE this summer between pargo and udoka (before we had ariza...).

pargo has allways been underrated and has allways been effective whenever he got minutes.

Davidse you really wanted Pargo and Udoka before the season started? You should be working for a team. That was incredible forsight. Those players turned out to be steals. If we would have gotten those players we would have won 60 games.
I don't think (besides Davidse) anybody saw Pargo coming. He was an average backup for so long who would have thought he would breakout like that. He could easily be starting and putting up damm good numbers.

Back when Pargo was a Laker he was just quick he was developing his offensive skills. He wasn't even half the offensive player he is today.

Actually, Phil Jackson expressed deep regret over losing Pargo a few years ago - I believe in his book, The Last Season.

Pargo was cut for cap purposes. He's had a pretty good following in this forum; his big games with the Bulls didn't go unnoticed. Also, Pargo was mentioned quite frequently when he was a FA a couple years ago.

However, the Lakers drafted Farmar, who fills a similar role: a small but fiery quick-scoring guard off the bench. Farmar's success has diminished the demand, desire, and interest in Pargo.

Back in the last couple of off seasons, many a pundit on this board was pulling for a solid PG like Blake or Pargo or even Charlie Bell.

The result, Blake got signed by Blazers for like 2 mil a season and Pargo found his home in NO. Mitch really got lucky by landing Fisher or else we'd have been in big trouble at the start of the season.

well, thanks for the compliment, but considering that we managed to trade for ariza, i'd say things worked out well since we ended up with him and fish.
but yeah, that was a good call if i do say so myself.
wanna hear another ?
sky from CL wanted outlaw ! now that's forsight.

anyway - udoka was known as a great defender and shot 40% from 3.
ideal for what we seemed to need last summer.
and i just happend to watch pargo quite a few times a year before, and he allways seemed to produce when given the minutes (remember the bulls' playoff games and his clutch shooting ?...).
so considering his price range and history with the team, i thought he would do well here.

so thanks again, but all things considerred i think we ended up ok...
