This is not meant to sound funny, but if I had control of the Lakers, I'd turn over control to someone who knew what they were doing before making any such moves.

I would fire Kupchak and buy out Jerry Buss because obviously none of them know anything about basketball.

Then I would instruct the new GM to sign exclusively athletic, thuggish, low IQ players that don't care about defense and watch them jump really high and run fast all season.

EDIT: I'd more specifically concentrate on over the hill players with cancerous personalities with franchise ending contracts like, Francis, Marbury, K-Mart, Zach Randolph and Jerome James. Come to think of it, I might make that my starting five.

Also, I'd of course trade Kobe just to clearly make the point that he shouldn't have run Shaq out of town.

I would realize that the Lakers are the 1st or 2nd or for arguement's sake a top 5 alltime team in any sport.....

The Lakers lineup now is

Bynum,Gasol,ODOM,Kobe,FISHER,Farmar,Ronny,RADMAN,KARL,WALTON,DJ,Sasha,IRA,ARIZA,MIHM

Then I would ruin this great team by making some insane trades that in reality would never happen in the first place.

fixed

Life..... I wonder....
Will it take me under.... I don't know

Verse One: TONY MONTANA

Imagine smoking weed at STAPLES without cops harassin
Imagine Laker Girls every night under the covers
Lifestyle cruising P&G behind my waters
No Steve Nash supporters more conscious of the way we win our titles
Playoffs are shorter, nights are colder
Feeling like life is over, these Reffs strike like a cobra
The Lakers are hot my son got not evidently
It's elementary, they want THE LAKERS gone eventually
Trooping out of state for a plate knowledge
of coke was cooked without the garbage we'd all have the top dollars
Imagine everybody flashin, LAKERS 4 LIFE
Designer clothes, lacing your click up with diamond vogues
Your LAKERSGM holdin dough, no HARLEMHEAT
No rubbers, go in raw imagine law with no undercovers
Just some thoughts for the mind
I take a glimpse into time
watch the blimp read "The LAKERS Is Mine"

If I had complete control over the LakersI'd hire Jack Nicholson as my official friend to help me act in Hollywood evetually !

I'd buy a huge house near the beach, a Ferrari Spyder, Porche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Gallardo, Murcielago, a coulple of bikes ... a lot of housekeepers...a lot of star parties, finally meet David Beckham, Kobe and other players ... Keanu Reeves, Kelly Brook, Jessica Alba ...

That's what I'd do ...

I suppose doctor Buss has already did it !

If this does end up a sig it will be totally taken out of context because I wouldn't change the Lakers current. This was just sopposed to be meant for fun and to be creative.

To the guy who said get Kwame I say why? He is horrible. And 2-3 million? He can be had for the vet min.

1st move - Re-sign Sasha and Turiaf

2nd move - Start negotiating with Lamar on a extension and try to get him to accept 10 millin per season over 6 years.

That's it and that's all we need.

I shouldn't have made this post because it comes off like I want the team dismantled. Honestly If I was the GM I would keep everybody and even if Phil retired I would promote the top assistant to keep the triangle. The only move I would make is Odom for RJ but that makes sence now to make Kobe's life easier. They need a defensive wing and another player to penetrate. I would think about trying to get Kirk because he is a great defender although Farmar is one of my favorites.
