So, I'll start.

The Lakers have been my 2nd favorite team since Shaq left, mostly because Kobe was mightly downplayed and trashed while you guys became a young "underdog" type team which is much easier to root for than a big bad dynasty team you guys were with Shaq. Make no mistake, I want the Jazz to win it all, but if you guys win the series, know I'll be rooting for you guys.

As for the series, I think the Jazz matchup much better with your current lineup than before. Okur is a much better defender, especially when matched up with bigmen like Gasol. Of course Kobe has an advantage, but we've got some practice with McGrady so we might play him a bit better. Deron also has an advantage, although not as big IMO. Boozer-AK and Odom-Rad might cancel eachother out, and both team's have solid deep benches. The biggest weakness Utah has is interior shot blocking, and that might play an important role, however as a team, we're a very capable defensive team (MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN DENVER). BTW, LA's inside shot blocking isn't as good without Bynum either.

As for the Fisher deal... PLEASE!!! Don't get into that. Some (I said some, NOT ALL) fellow Jazz fans took offense to the fact that Fisher QUICKLY headed to LA after being released which gave the impression that he took advantage of the situation to "ditch" us. The truth... none of us can know for certain. The FACTS are that he was a solid player for us and provided good veteran leadership and big shots and memorable moments in last year's playoffs. Then, he needed to leave to attend his daughter so we LET him leave (and get his money off the books). He decided to quickly sign with LA, wether that was premeditated or not we'll never know and is irrelevant. He's now a key player on a great team that is a key rival to the Jazz and some Jazz fans booed him as such. Wether they feel for him on a personal level we will never know and is irrelevant.

I know the Lakers and it's fans took offense to him being booed. As I tried to explain, I very much don't think it was that big a deal. Both teams benefited of the situation and we all hope Fisher and his daughter have gotten what she needed.

That's what it is.

Like I said, this thread is for the classy fans of both teams so we can actually talk about and enjoy what should be a very good/great series. If you feel like trash talking or trolling, then go the general board or to the respective game threads, but try and keep this one civil.

I hope the Jazz win, and have a good shot if they can somehow win one of the first two. If not, you guys will probably win in a range of 5-7 and I'll be rooting for you to go the rest of the way.

Here's to a great series!!!

It's not necessary to come and say it here since many of us are very classy and know how to behave properly.

You'd better post it on your board too since a lot more Jazz fans' behaviour lets a lot to be wished ... you hate the Lakers, not we the Jazz ...

You showed how classy you are when we beat you in March on your own homecourt and back in november. That was so classy, that it looked to me it wasn't in USA, but in Zanzibar or somewhere in Indochina !

Salt Lake City people who attend Jazz home games are so far from being classy when the Lakers play there !
Even if Fisher wanted to leave your team to play in LA, what's the problem ??! He feels a lot better here and his daughter too ! It's eye cancer, man ! Are some Jazz fans that stupid to not understand that ??!

I really don't feel anything to the NBA teams, at all ! All what I care about is - LA Lakers ! It doesn't matter to me that the Celtics have gotten 18 titles, that you beat us a couple of times in the playoffs, that the Spurs have won 4 titles since '99, that the Suns have beaten us twice in the playoffs' first round 2 years in a row ! At all ! I'm always looking foward !

You should do the same in order to be classy !
Why do you hate the Lakers ?! I don't get it ??! Because we're better? Because we've won 3 titles in a row? Because we always have the top players in the world ??! Why ??! Could a Jazz fan tell me ?!

But thank's to you for being classy ! But this thread is senseless and useless because it looks like an undercover attack.

Good luck ! Post this on your board too since it relates to both teams' fans.
A lot more Jazz fans behave they way they shouldn't ... I suppose.

I agree that this "let's stay classy" post is a little... weird... but let's get real here:

The notion that you have less "instigators" in your fan base than the Jazz in theirs is laughable at best.

And I'm pretty sure people are allowed to boo Fisher. He's on the opposing team now. Should we never boo him again just because his daughter had a tragic ailment that -- thank God -- she seems to be recovering from? I mean, seriously. Should we never have booed MJ again after his dad died? Larry Hughes after his brother died? Alonzo Mourning after his kidney transplant? As long as we're not chanting something about his daughter's cancer, which would be deplorable beyond description, why in the HELL should we not be allowed to boo the starter of one of our rivals?

If they booed Fisher SPECIFICALLY for leaving, then yeah, I'm not on-board. But why can't they boo a rival player?

Anyway, good look to you all as well. I expect a tough series and don't consider the Jazz the favorites. We won't roll over either, though.

come on, of all players, the one who got the boos was D_Fish.
a coincidence? Im not sure

Kobe gets booed too. Were you sitting there tracking the decibels on Sound Studio?

Let's have a good series that ultimately ends in the MVP getting his revenge on the guys that prematurely ended his season ten years ago.

Screw classy and good luck. I for one am ashmed that a so called Jazz fan came in here with his tail between his legs and embarrassed us real Jazz fans that way. I hope we kick the living **** out you, and I hope it hurts real bad. This will be my last post in this forum while the series is going on, because otherwise it would get real nasty.

Dude, WTH???

The fact is that anywhere that will talk about the series will degenerate into Jazz suck, fans are classless, stupid mormons vs Lakers are a bunch of thugs, Kobe is the antichrist, LA is a horrible city, etc. etc.

This thread is so we can actually discuss without the people that LIKE to trash talk, which provokes the other team to respond, and on and on...

I opened this on your board because I don't see most of the your "good" regular posters over on the Jazz board (only trolls have appeared) and this can't go in the Gen board.

And like I said, please, let the Fisher thing go already. You should know our crowd is one of the most intense and unforgiving, a big reason of our awsome home record. Some of them booed while others cheered or behaved neutral. That's what it was is all I'm trying to say.

BTW, GL on today's game.

That's not a fact at all. That statement above doesn't reflect Laker fans on this forum at all. Your assumptions are wrong, and considering you call your assumptions about Laker fans a "fact", you're ignorant of the quality and character of most posters on this board. And if there are inappropriate comments, mods exist to regulate them.

As you can see, your calling this thread "official classy" doesn't prevent both Lakers and Jazz fans from coming in here and making posts that aren't classy. It's unnecessarily attracts troublemakers.

Sorry, but that's the responsibility of the Jazz board, mods, and posters.

People are mostly well-behaved here. And if they're not, there's a report button and the mods will do something about it.

And like I said, please, let the Fisher thing go already. You should know our crowd is one of the most intense and unforgiving, a big reason of our awsome home record. Some of them booed while others cheered or behaved neutral. That's what it was is all I'm trying to say.

Well, I hope so, except that wasn't all you were saying, you said we would never know the truth behind Fisher leaving Utah. Again, I like your sentiment of being classy, but you're making some duplicitous statements.

BTW, GL on today's game.

Thanks, we have a game thread, hope to see you there.

Back to topic. Wait a minute. What exactly is the topic about? The idea of a classy behavior thread quickly died with those Derek Fisher comments.

Fisher left millions and millions on the table and also left a team that went all the way to the WCF last year

There isn't a classier bunch of posters than on the Lakers board.
Cheers to my fellow Laker fans and posters.
Good luck on a good series to the Jazz fans. I'm sorry but you will not win this series although you do have a very nice team. The Lakers are simply a better team.

Well OK I guess.

Maybe it's the fact that during the Rockets series there was no ONE place to actually have a decent discussion, as you might have already seen some of them even troll here. And given that both teams are really good, play good basketball, and I like them both (I'm still a Jazz fan and want them to crush you ;)) I though of soing this to try to draw some good classy decent postings about it.

Maybe next game Boozer is fully aware what his team is wearing (for some reason he though his guys were the ones in white-gold jerseys :banghead:) and we'll have a better shot. See you wednesday.

But this time we got'em in the cross hairs, taking aim at what's in our way. So the only way to get where we're going is to clear the path.

Sorry Jazz fans but this is business and it's personal that's just the way it's gotta be because the Lakers have a job to do.

Hey but feel free to talk ball with us as long as it's intelligent convo.
