Pau has been a big key for this team but I am constantly amazed (and disgusted) at how small and soft he plays for a 7 footer - especially on defense and rebounding. It's starting to get under my skin a bit - the only reason I'm not livid is because we are still winning and the offense operates well with him.

Oh well, as long as we win it's cool but I would really like to see just a little toughnes from him.

and a big time ditto about Farmar and Rad...Farmar more so to me just because I sorta expect this BS from Rad.

They were only +4 on the boards over us tonight, so that's a better job.

Gasol has got to box out though, and we have to limit their offensive boards. I'm not complaining though.. Gasol does so much for this team.

I hadn't really noticed anything between Kobe and Jordan, so I'm not sure what to think about that.

I just don't like the loafing on defense, and in general. He had a play last night that was just awful -- jacked up a super quick jumper early in the shot clock, hung his head when he missed and jogged back on defense, which forced everyone to scramble and allowed Korver to get a wide-open 3.

It was almost a carbon copy of the chain reaction Vlade started when he stepped out of bounds and let Kirilenko get up court for a layup.

You simply cannot have mental lapses like that, not in the playoffs.

Very impressive win. The defense in the fourth was effing awesome. The defense runs like a well oiled machine. I still think Utah will take one of the next two.

Haha I was nervous that me having to make a gamethread was a bad thing for the game. Luckily I shot a rabbit, stole his feet, rubbed them on a four leaf clover, then wore my special socks and sweatshirt.

Regarding Vlad, if I may-

He is a space cadet. I think probably this might be something like severe a.d.d. or something I'd be tempted to look at medicating, but-

He's such a minor weak link compared to others we've had. Devean George, Brian Cook, Kwame Brown. That's a good thing. Also, he does come through quite a bit, he can break team's backs with his sniping, and we're undefeated in the playoffs!

This is definitely one for the Jackson psychology experiments, but I like the guy and still think he'll get better and come through big during this run.

That's about his only saving grace -- you know he's going to have games where he busts open a tight game with a quick shooting streak. I just wish they happened every few nights instead of every few weeks -- or months. Some of the lines he's put up recently are just horrendous:

2 points, 0 boards in 19 minutes last night.
2 points, 2 boards in 23 minutes against the Spurs on April 13.
2 points, 2 boards in 23 minutes against the Hornets on April 11.
4 points, 3 boards in 25 minutes against the Mavs on April 4.

Mix in the marginal defense and decision making, and I see him being a lot more than a minor weak link. I just don't have any confidence that he's going to permanently turn the corner. At some point, you are who you are, and in his case that's a vastly overpaid streak shooter.

EDIT -- Hedo definitely made a quantum leap, but players who do that are so rare I don't think it's very realisitic to expect the same out of Vlade. I can see someone like Sasha doing it, mainly because he plays hard and clearly cares about what he's doing. I never get the sense that basketball is all that important to Vlade.
